Alicudi, goat house

Perfectly preserved ancient Aeolian house. All rooms overlook the large terrace with a breathtaking view of the other islands and the Sicilian coast. You will find unspoiled nature, silence and privacy. Alicudi has no roads but stairs and one moves only by foot. Our house is located 150 meters above sea level, to reach it you need to climb 400 steps. It takes 15/20 minutes uphill and 10 downhill. A mule can carry your luggage and shopping. The space The house is composed by 2 rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower (hot water is available). All rooms face the wide terrace shadowed by a coverage made of lines of canes, according to Eolian typical architecture. Just outside the house, close to the garden there are an outdoor shower (cold and hot water available as well). The garden around the house has some local fruit trees, as an ancient almond tree and some orange trees. Guest access The house is independent and totally available for the guests. Other things to note On Alicudi, water is a very precious resource. The cisterns in the houses are filled with rainwater collected from the rooftops, supplemented every 15 days by water delivered by a tanker ship. The water supply in our house is therefore very limited, and it is essential to use it sparingly.
