Description
We live in a circular machine - come and share our unique home in the centre of Norfolk. The guest bedroom is the ground floor of mill and the guest shower room/toilet is in the converted granary connected to the tower. Mill life isn't all plain sailing - there's a lifetime of rotating DIY projects. The mill cap is currently at ground level being restored. Caston Mill is 30mins from Norwich, an hour from the coast and on the edge of Thetford Forest. The space Built in 1864, the six storey tarred brick tower is 55ft tall and has 30 inch thick walls. Currently only the ground floor and first floor are being used - but you can still venture all the way up to the cap and explore the different mechanisms - from the sack hoist, bins, wheels and brake systems. The guest bedroom is on the ground floor of the tower, featuring a wooden kingsize bed that is piled with blankets to keep you snug and has its own entrance out to the garden. Make use of the generous gardens - watch out for the odd hen clucking around too. There's a fridge and kettle in the room, but you are welcome to climb up and use the shared dining space, lounge, and kitchen too. Guest access You're welcome to join us in the attached granary and use the stairs rather than the original mill ladders. During your stay We live in the connected granary building and use the first floor of the mill as our dining room (with the cast iron spur wheel as our ceiling). We're sociable people and you're always welcome to join us in the open plan kitchen/lounge on the first floor of he granary, but also understand the want of privacy when you're away. You'll find us doing endless DIY jobs, mill restoration, pottering in the gardens or under the odd classic car! Other things to note Basic shower room / toilet
