Description

Recently renovated 1st floor apartment. Huge living area with a sofa bed and large balcony with water views and just 2 minutes walk to the sea, tavernas and bars. Located in a lemon grove 5 kms from Aigio on the northern tip of the Peloponnese, mainland Greece. There are permanent residents in the same building and there are a couple of dogs. The space A very large recently renovated 1st floor apartment with marble floors clean and modern fittings and 2 large balconies. Valimitika is situated 180 kms west of Athens on the tip of the Peloponnese. Internet can be arranged but the local taverna is the ideal location to answer emails, surf the net while sipping your cafe freddo. In the mornings buses run every half hour to the town of Egion, a bustling Greek town of 30,000 with all amenities and with the diversity of fresh fruit and vegies as well as sophisticated shopping. Egion has a museum and every Saturday morning hosts a market of locally grown produce as well as clothing and bargains are abundant. The village of Valimitika has a 'general store' where basic items can be bought and there are a number of tavernas, Galini, Touristiko and the unique 'Railway Station' where meat eaters are in for a treat. There's another apartment, directly beneath this one that is also listed, 'A Greek Village By The Sea'. There is generally someone around who speaks English. Valimitika is a working lemon grove. In addition to the lemons, other citrus is grown as will as olives and various fruits and vegetables. It's a working community so there will be tractors and other farming noises and the property is home to a couple of friendly dogs, Zeus and Bruno. Every morning the sound of the tooting horn announces the arrival of the local baker and he stops at the apartment so you can purchase loaves of bread, rolls and pastries. There is also a vegie truck and fish monger driving through the village alerting us of their arrival. Guest access Huge private balcony and all garden areas are accessible. Other things to note Valimitika is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore the mainland of Greece. Take a day trip to Delphi or Olympia or travel on the cog railway to Kalavryta, the historical village in the mointains, famous for skiing in the winter. The village offers numerous tavernas and bars right at the water's edge. Registration Details 00000370220
