Fielden Farm Barn
Fielden Farm Barn
Description
The cottage is situated on a small Pennine hill farm. It is in a quiet, secluded area at the end of the farm lane but is only a mile from the small town of Littleborough which has supermarkets and shops. Trains from Littleborough connect to Manchester and Leeds. M62 junction 21 is 10-15 min drive. We live in the adjacent farmhouse, guests will often see us around the farm. We are more than happy to interact and have a chat but respect those who want privacy. Sorry we do not allow pets. The space The cottage is open plan downstairs with a living, dining and kitchen area. The living area has a TV and wood burner. The dining area is situated at the side of the kitchen with table and four chairs. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped. The cottage has underfloor heating supplied by renewable ground source energy. We have fitted solar panels on agricultural buildings so that we are now carbon neutral in the summer months. Guest access Guests have the whole of the cottage, the patio area at the front and the parking space. The waste/recyling bins for the cottage are now next to the parking space and separate from the ones we use. Other things to note We can offer suggestions for hill walks and cycling routes in the area. There are a good number of places to eat within easy walking distance. Footpaths lead directly from the farm onto the moors, to Hollingworth Lake and there is a short cut across the fields to Littleborough (when it's not wet or if you have walking boots or wellies) There is a Singer 4423 sewing machine with its attachments and other sewing bits and bobs that is kept in a box under the stairs. Guests are welcome to use them. Winter nights can be long!
