Description

Our 950 square ft house built in the 1940's is located in an area affectionately known as Fre-lard, the area overlapping the Fremont and Ballard neighborhoods. There are many great places to eat and drink within close walking distance of the house. Some are right around the corner. We sit one block East of the 27 mile biking, walking, canal strolling Burke Gilman trail. The neighborhood is host to a growing number of local breweries and family friendly eateries. The space Our home is ideal for couples, families and friends. It has a comfortable living room where you can relax, have cocktails, read or watch TV. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen. We provide paper filters for drip coffee. There is a French Press and Mr. Coffee machine as well. You will find salt, sugar, oil, vinegar and some spices in the cabinets. Help yourselves to fresh sage and Rosemary growing in the yard year round. I plant extra cherry tomatoes in the garden for guests in the summer. There is a fire pit in the back yard with table and chairs. Although this house is child friendly, it is not child proof. The yard is not fenced between the two North- South yards. We live in the house directly behind this house. There is a table in the kitchen that can be used for breakfast or dining. Each of the two bedrooms accommodates 2 people. The smaller bedroom has a double bed and the larger has a Queen. Extra linen, blankets and pillows are located in the closets of each bedroom. The futon and sofa in the living room can be used as beds as well. Please make sure to use sheets and pillows when sleeping on either. Sometimes the old windows rattle. Small wooden shims are located on the window sills to quiet the sound. In the warmer months, the windows can be locked in an open position, with attached pins, if desired. Guest access Guests will have full access to the main floor of the house. The attic and garage are used for storage and are not accessible to guests. We occasionally use an extra refrigerator located in the garage. Please park so that we can open the garage door. You will have full access to the back yard with table and chairs . There is also a fire pit with additional seating and a hammock for the warmer months. You will need to check the Burn Ban status for King County before lighting a fire in the fire pit. http://www.pscleanair.org/168/Current-Status Other things to note The PCC (Puget Consumers Co-op) is 10 blocks away. A beautiful walk down the Burke-Gilman trail will get you there or you can drive and they offer free underground parking while you shop. There is a farmer's market on Sundays. The Fred Meyer Supermarket is 3 blocks away which carries everything from organic food to camping equipment. It has a remarkably good wine selection. Trader Joe's is 10 blocks away. A New Seasons Market is opening 7 blocks away Spring 2018. Registration Details STR-OPLI-19-002469
