Rose Cottage is a cosy, well-equipped, and sustainable self-catering property, with a private hot tub. Its secure garden is perfect for dog owners. With beautiful views in a peaceful village location, it's ideally located for visiting York, Scarborough, the North Yorkshire Moors and Malton. Sleeping up to 4 adults, this cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are 2 pubs serving food, a village store, fish and chips and bus routes 1/2 a mile away. 5 star reviews The space Rose Cottage is detached, so it is quite private. There are two bedrooms - a double room, with a comfortable double bed, TV, dressing table, wardrobe, bedside table and chair with a space for a travel cot, available on request. The second bedroom is smaller, with space for a single bed with a second pull out bed. Both bedrooms look out onto farmland and the gently sloping hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. Our aim is to provide a comfortable, home from home and spotlessly clean place to relax. If there's anything you need we are usually close by to help, but otherwise we respect your privacy. Downstairs is an open plan living area, and a shower room. The living area has a cosy, corner sofa and armchair, plus a massage chair, an internet-ready TV and side tables. The table seats 4 and can be extended. A high chair and stair gate are also available if needed. The kitchen area has 2 stools and a bench looking out onto fields, plus fridge with ice box, microwave, a gas cooker and a coffee machine. There's a good range of crockery, cutlery and pans. The ground floor shower room features a powerful shower with glass surround, a hand basin and w.c. The garden is fully fenced and has a jacuzzi-style hot tub, a small patio with gas barbecue, table and chairs, and a lawned area. The cottage is at the edge of a peaceful, rural village. Traffic is minimal and usually consists of tractors, horses, and locals. Our visitors come to relax and enjoy the wildlife; pheasants, partridge, deer, birds of prey, bats, hares and rabbits are often spotted from the windows or in the adjoining paddock. There are lots of off-road walks minutes from our door, and we are 1/2 a mile from the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail (hopefully soon to be an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), so walkers will find a blend of farmland, woodland and hills to explore. The main road from York to the East coast (Scarborough, Filey, Hunmanby, etc.) is just half a mile away. Whitby, the North Yorkshire Moors, and the Yorkshire Wolds are also popular days out for our guests as most can be reached within half an hour's drive. Two dogs are very welcome, please let us know if you are bringing them as we can supply furniture throws, dog beds, towels and bowls on request. Towels, bed linen and cleaning materials are provided. We also supply tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for your arrival. We have dairy-free milk and gluten-free biscuits on request, so please ask. There's parking for one car on the drive (and more space outside if needed). Please note, we do not permit electric vehicle charging at our property. The laundry room is shared with us, and our shepherd's hut which is set in the paddock adjoining the cottage. You can book this alongside too - it sleeps 2. We are a sustainable small business, and welcome all guests. If you DO NOT wish to use the hot tub we can reduce the cost of your booking. We charged an additional cleaning and maintenance fee of £50 per booking for bookings before 13.5.25. Guest access You have sole use of the cottage, hot tub and garden plus shared use of the laundry room. There is one parking space for a car or small van on site for Rose Cottage. Additional vehicles can be left on the grass verge outside. Other things to note 2 dogs are welcome, free of charge. I can supply dog bed, bowls and towels etc. if you forget them. We also have a warm hose with spray attachment that you can use to wash them. For any bookings made before 13.5.25 the hot tub was offered as an optional extra at a charge of £50. This is now included in the booking. If you DO NOT want to use the hot tub please let us know and we can make an adjustment to the price.
