Robins Brook, Porlock
Robins Brook, Porlock
Description
Robin's Brook is a traditional 120-year-old former quarryman's cottage in Porlock, Somerset, offering cosy holiday accommodation for up to 4 guests. This is a characterful, traditionally furnished cottage rather than a modern-style property, with two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and a family bathroom upstairs featuring a shower over the bath. The space Downstairs there's a cosy sitting room with an open fire, plus a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, larder fridge, separate freezer and washer-dryer. A TV, books and games are provided for evenings in. Outside, doors from the kitchen and sitting room open onto a private, enclosed rear courtyard with a table and chairs, which also gives access to a second, outdoor toilet. Across the lane from the cottage is a large private lawned garden for guests' use, bordered by the Hawkcombe stream, with a picnic table, a swing and lovely views towards Hurlestone Down. WiFi, central heating and electricity are included, along with all bed linen and towels (guests should bring their own beach towels for day trips). There's no cot or stair gate, though a highchair is available. Private parking for one car is available directly opposite the cottage, with a further possible space by the garden gate; bike storage is available in the yard at the rear via a right of way past the neighbouring property. Dogs are welcome (maximum two) for a supplement, provided they are kept off the furniture and are not left alone in the cottage. Children are welcome, though supervision is needed near the stream and swing in the garden, and facilities for very young children are limited. Please note the cottage is not suitable for those with restricted mobility: there are steps up to the front door, a tight entrance space, steep (though hand-railed) stairs to the first floor, and the bathroom has a shower over the bath.
