Description
Unique, privately owned, secluded and cosy log cabin in the Scottish Highlands with views to the sea and local hills. The space The cabin sits just 2 miles inland from the village of Golspie, the iconic Dunrobin Castle, and miles of stunning coastline and beaches. Golspie lies an hour’s drive North from the “Capital of the Highlands”, Inverness. It is directly on the well-known “NC 500” road around the north coast of Scotland, has a well-stocked supermarket, a butcher, a fish-monger, two or three cafes, a bank…… and an excellent fish-and-chip shop! It also has a James Braid-designed links golf course. The Cabin is nestled out of sight in pretty birch woodland, above impressive waterfalls and just below the distinctive hill and panoramic viewpoint of Ben Bhraggie. It has a very spacious sitting/dining area with comfortable easy-chairs and an open stone-faced fire. The separate kitchen is fully-equipped including two fridges, oven and hob, microwave, kettle and coffee-machine. There is one double bedroom, one twin-bedroom and one room with a bunk-bed. The bathroom incudes toilet, bath, and electric shower with good water pressure. There are electric heaters available in each room. Outside there is a stone terrace with wooden garden table and chairs. There are many beautiful walks directly from the front door, and lots of space around the Log Cabin for children to play. Short drives take you to the Championship Golf Course of Dornoch and Dornoch Cathedral (where Madonna got married), the salmon-leaping spectacle at the Falls of Shin, two distilleries (Clynelish and Brora) in the village of Brora, and vast areas of glorious Highland scenery. Or just stay in, relax in front of the open fire, and admire the views to the sea and the hills from the picture windows. Whilst new to Airbnb in 2024, the cabin has been enjoyed by a large number of guests over many years.
