The Stable Block, Porlock Weir

The Stable Block is a cosy retreat for two, offering an open-plan living and kitchen area downstairs designed for comfortable self-catering. A dining table is provided for meals, though the outdoor seating areas make an appealing alternative in warmer months. The well-equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric combi-oven/microwave and ceramic hob, along with a toaster, kettle, cafetière and all the usual utensils and crockery (please note there is no washing machine). The space Upstairs, the bedroom boasts a stunning balcony view over Porlock Bay, and the bathroom has a shower over bath. The living room has a television with Netflix, a CD player and a wood burner for cosy evenings, while underfloor heating throughout keeps things comfortable, with electricity and heating costs included in your stay. Logs for the wood burner can be added to your booking, with kindling and matches supplied as standard. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with a small welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits, plus basic cleaning materials and toilet rolls. Outside, the property shares a private garden with the neighbouring Coach House, though as that property has its own decking area, Stable Block guests typically have the garden to themselves. Two patio terraces provide lovely spots to sit and take in the view, with a table and chairs available a few steps down in the garden. Secure off-road parking for one car is provided in a shared courtyard. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum two), with a supplement of GBP 15 per dog; they should be kept off the furniture and out of the upstairs area. Cats are not permitted. The property is strictly non-smoking and is not suitable for children or for guests with restricted mobility, including wheelchair users. Over the festive period, some decorations are added downstairs, and the property is available for Christmas stays. Check-in is from 2pm and check-out by 10am.
