The Log Cabin at historic Dawt Mill has a full size kitchen with beautiful views of the historic Mill grounds with a short walk to the North Fork River. From the deck and porch areas you have an overlook of gardens and the original Grist Mill, built at the turn of the 20th century. The one bedroom cabin has a queen size bed with daybed/trundle and fold down couch in the living room. No TV in this wonderfully quiet area to unplug and enjoy some quality time as a couple or with family. The space The Log Cabin is the perfect headquarters for your relaxing visit to the Ozarks. Keep in mind this cabin was built in the late 1960s by former owners of Dawt Mill. The main area being constructed of hand hewn logs from an old log home brought over from neighboring Douglas County. The kitchen area, remodeled in 2021, has all you need to make yourself at home; including cookware, basic cooking utensils, silverware, toaster, stove, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, mixing bowls, cups, coffee cups, dish washing supplies and a small prep table with cutting board. There is a patio at the kitchen entrance that has a charcoal grill and picnic table for your use. The Living Room is set up for relaxing and spending time with family. In here you will find a kitchen table for playing games or eating, a couch that folds down for extra sleeping space, daybed with trundle for lounging or sleeping and ample space for an air mattress. Off the main living area is a cozy deck area where you can enjoy morning coffee and listen to the sounds of nature. This area is very quiet in the Fall, Winter and Spring and perfect for a getaway to help you unplug, reset and recharge anytime of the year. The bathroom is stocked with basic necessitates, mini soaps, shampoos, toilet paper and towels, with a nice large walk in shower. The quaint bedroom offers a comfy queen size bed, double closets that hold your luggage and contain extra linens with a rollaway bed. Guest access When you arrive at Dawt Mill there is ample parking in front of the General Store and right next to the Log Cabin. The County Road runs through the property and right down to the river. This area is lightly to moderately traveled the majority of traffic being locals, fishermen and floaters. Other things to note Dawt Mill is an old town that had been around for over 100 years, the first mill building being built in the late 1800s. Being located on the North Fork River it has went from a booming community in the country, once having family homes, a General Store, Blacksmith Shop, Post Office, Grist Mill, Cotton Gin and Church to the resort we are today. The General Store, Grist Mill and original Hodgson House still stand today, these were built by local miller Alva Hodgson.
