Perfect for family holidays all year round - with a short distance to mountain hiking, trail cycling, skiing, water park and animal parks. The house has 3 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, Chromecast, barbecue and wood stove. Electricity and firewood are included, and check-in is easy with a code lock and parking right at the door. The space Welcome to a charming farmhouse in quiet surroundings at Valdresbråten, about 500 meters above sea level. Here you live rural and peaceful, but with a short distance to both the city center, the mountain and many exciting experiences. 🛏️ About the House The house has three bedrooms – one with a double bed and two with bunk beds (one bedroom has access via the bathroom). One bunk bed can easily be split into two single beds on the floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need: dishwasher, stove, microwave, fridge/freezer and coffee maker. In the living room you will find wifi, TV with Chromecast and a cozy wood-burning stove – perfect for ending the day with a fire in the fireplace and peace of mind. Outdoors you will find two sunny porches, charcoal grill and swing stand for the kids. Bikes can be locked in the outdoor shed, and there is the possibility of washing. Electricity and wood are included in the rent, and you can drive all the way to the door. Check-in is easily via code lock. 🌿 Experiences right outside the door The dirt road below the house is little busy and fits perfectly for a leisurely stroll or jog. For a small round trip you can follow Espesetveien to the top and follow the path back to the house. Around 15 minutes walk away is Bakkeberget, a small viewpoint with a great view over the valley. The Espeset path is a nice path to walk down to the city centre (about 30 minutes down). In winter, the fields around the house are fine for sledding and skiing. 🎿 Winter in Nesbyen In 15 minutes you reach Nesfjellet Alpin, a modern ski resort with 6 lifts, 14 slopes, ski rental and cafe. In the same area you will find almost 400 km of groomed cross country tracks, including the popular Yellow round from Nystølkroken Kafé. If you want to try something new, you can go dog sledding at Langedrag or take a relaxing day at Tropicana Badeland in Gol (30 min away). ☀️ Summer and Autumn In summer, Nesbyen offers a sea of hiking opportunities – from short family trips to airy mountain hikes with spectacular views. Sjåfunatten, Kvasshovda and Trommenatten give a real mountain feeling without being demanding. Dyna is a slightly longer mountain hike to an amazing view stop. Trytetjern (20 min away) has a swimming area, play areas, zipline, sand volleyball court and barbecue facilities. If you love cycling, you have come to the right place: Espesetstien starts a few hundred meters from the house and goes all the way down to the city center. HallingSpranget – one of Europe's longest flow paths – starts at the top of Nesfjellet. Bike bus leaves from the city center (you have e-bike you can also bike from the house). Trailhead Nesbyen offers shuttling in the trails east of downtown. You can find rental of bikes in the center of Nesbyen. Feel free to ask the host for tips. Golf enthusiasts can visit Nesfjellet Golf, a great 9 hole course with cafe and restaurant. There are also many good fishing lakes and rivers in the area, and you can borrow a rowboat at Skålsrudstølvannet for free (contact the host for appointment). 🐾 Excursions and family activities Langedrag Nature Park (approx. 30 min) – meet wolf, lynx, elk and mountain fox. The bear park (about 40 min) – exciting experiences for the kids with bears, foxes, crocodiles and play country. Tropicana Badeland (approx. 30 min) – indoor water park at Gol with tropical temperature all year round.
