This is one half of a converted depot building by downtown Dayton, full of the kind of character that only comes from a building with real history. Stained glass windows catch the light in the hallway, a repurposed church pew serves as table seating, and an antique dresser anchors one of the bedrooms, and wavy glass that shows the true age of those towering windows. The whole place has been tastefully updated too, with new mattresses, comfortable beds, and modern conveniences woven in around the original details. Central air and heat keep things comfortable regardless of what is happening outside. Fast, reliable wifi runs throughout the house. You're a short walk from Main Street's restaurants, shops, and coffee, with a laundromat a block away for longer stays. Ski Bluewood is 30 minutes up the hill, Walla Walla is a 30 minute drive, and the Tri-Cities are about an hour out. You're also inside an hour of more than 100 wineries, with forest, hiking, and open nature just a short drive away. Dayton makes a genuinely good home base for a trip built around wine, mountains, or the outdoors, and works just as well for a weekend of doing nothing at all. A couple of things worth knowing before you book: the house has steep stairs, and much of the furniture and decor reflects the building's history, so it's genuinely old rather than vintage-style new. It's a great fit for adults, groups of friends, and couples. Families are welcome, though the house isn't especially childproofed, so plan accordingly if you're bringing little ones. You'll share the backyard with the residents next door, so not completely private but it includes a table and seating space that is reserved for your unit alone. Guest access The building is divided into two units. You have access to all of 218 with the exception of the locked room and closets. And you are welcome to use the shared backyard which has a seating area and table exclusively for your use.
