Designer Hudson Valley Lake House near Cold Spring
Designer Hudson Valley Lake House near Cold Spring
Description
The lake finds you first. Mornings start at the dock, coffee in hand, the water quiet before anyone else is awake. Afternoons drift into whatever the day wants, a nap that wasn't planned, a book that stays open longer than intended, the kind of stillness that makes the hours disappear without you noticing. Evenings slow into something quieter, conversation stretching the way it only does with nowhere else to be. Most nights end back at the dock, watching the lake go dark. The space The cabin holds two bedrooms and two bathrooms, small in footprint but rich in character throughout. The primary bedroom sits up its own flight of stairs and holds a king bed, while the second bedroom, furnished with two twin beds, stays close to the heart of the house for family or a second couple. Walls of glass and sliding doors keep the lake in view from nearly every room, and a rotating collection of art, from bold Miro-style prints to a Delaunay-inspired study in color, turns the living room into something closer to a gallery. A wood-burning fireplace, framed in stone, anchors the space and mid-century furniture throughout gives the cabin its own confident, curated point of view. The kitchen carries its own personality: cherry-red countertops and red hardware against crisp white cabinetry, an induction range, a dishwasher, and a full coffee station with both an espresso machine and a French press for slow mornings. High-speed WiFi keeps everyone connected, though the lake has a way of making that feel less urgent than it did on arrival. Outside, a deck extends toward the water and a fully fenced backyard holds its own quiet, gardens the local deer would happily raid given the chance. Below the lawn, a private dock reaches out over the lake, two Adirondack chairs and an umbrella arranged for the parts of the day worth slowing down for, whether that's a morning breakfast with the water still misting or a sunset cocktail to start the evening off right. Guest access Guests will have exclusive access to the entire home and all guest spaces. A few storage and utility areas will remain locked for safety and maintenance purposes, but beyond those, the property is entirely accessible for guests to enjoy privately. Other things to note Property Access The gate of the deer fence, located on the driveway, must remain closed at all times. Deer will destroy the garden if given the opportunity to graze among the flower beds at night.
