Self-sufficient luxury on the horse pasture

Located right next to an idyllic horse paddock, you will experience real "minimal living" and absolute self-sufficiency here – combined with stylish luxury. Enjoy the view of the horses from the cozy terrace, snuggle up by the warm wood-burning stove in the evening, or end the day by the fire pit. ​The best part: You're surrounded by greenery and can still reach the highlights of the north in no time! The historic city center of Lübeck is only 15–20 minutes away, the Baltic Sea beach awaits you at about the same distance, and Hamburg, Wismar and Schwerin are close by for day trips. ​ ​The car was designed in a Scandinavian minimalist style with a lot of love for detail and light wood elements. It is fully insulated and, thanks to the real wood-burning stove, cozy and warm in the transitional season. ​Outdoor luxury: In front of the car, a cozy terrace, a romantic fire pit for campfire evenings and a grill for culinary moments in nature await you. A basic supply of firewood is ready for you! ​Kitchen & culinary delights: For the perfect start to the day, you will find coffee, salt, pepper and some oil at my place. Your gas refrigerator always provides cool drinks. ​Bathroom: A modern shower provides you with hot water heated by gas (permanently preset to a pleasant 38°C). ​Important information on self-sufficiency & sustainability (your "digital detox") ​My car lives in harmony with nature, which is why a few things are different and wonderfully relaxing: ​Electricity: I generate all the electricity myself using solar power and a high-end lithium battery. There are no standard 230V outlets (for a hair dryer or laptop power supply). However, convenient USB ports are available for charging your smartphones (please bring a suitable USB cable). Perfect to put the laptop aside and unwind! ​The eco-toilet: I use a clean, completely odor-free dry separation toilet (compost toilet) with no chemicals at all. ​My soap policy: Since the wastewater is directed directly and in an environmentally friendly manner into the paddock soil, we provide you with homemade, purely organic shower gels, soaps and dishwashing detergents. Please use only these to protect nature. ​Location & the best excursion destinations in the area: ​The car is parked in a wonderfully secluded spot on a narrow dirt road right next to the paddock. The extremely convenient proximity to the highway gives you the perfect starting point for exploration tours: ​Lübeck (15–20 min.): Stroll through the historic old town, visit the Holstentor, or enjoy marzipan at Café Niederegger. (Tip: Free parking at the Media Docks!). ​Baltic Sea beach & sea (around 20–25 min): Pack your swimwear! The wide sandy beach in Travemünde, the beautiful Priwall peninsula or the lively hustle and bustle on Timmendorfer Strand are easily accessible. ​Nature & lakes: The picturesque Wakenitz (the "Amazon of the North") and the beautiful Ratzeburger See are practically on the doorstep and invite you to go boating and hiking. Would you like to borrow a canoe? That can be arranged. ​City trips: You can reach Hamburg city center via the A1 in just about 50–60 minutes. The historic Wismar, Schwerin or the Baltic Sea resort of Rostock (about 1.5 to 2 hours by car via the A20) are also fantastic destinations for a day trip. ​Note about the proximity to the highway: Outside on the terrace, depending on the wind direction, you can hear the highway as a subtle background noise – but inside the car, it is wonderfully quiet for sleeping. Mosquito spray: Where there is nature, water and animals, there are naturally also mosquitoes in summer. Don't worry: A bottle of mosquito spray is always ready for you in the car! ​Handling the horses: ​Since the car is in the middle of the inhabited paddock, you will experience the animals up close. However, for their safety and yours, the following rule applies strictly: Only observe, do not touch and absolutely do not feed! Food jealousy quickly leads to dangerous fights for dominance among horses, in which the animals can injure themselves. Just relax and enjoy the view from the terrace. Other things to note Since my car is supposed to function in harmony with nature, I ask that you only use my self-made, fully biodegradable cleaning products and soaps. The shower gel contains mare's milk, which can cause problems for those with a horse hair allergy. Please contact me for alternatives. To be considerate of people with skin problems, I have avoided perfumes or fragrances. If you arrive with a four-legged family member, I kindly ask you not to let it sleep on the couch or in the bed. But if it is unavoidable, please bring your own bedding, including an inlay, and cover the couch well with a waterproof cover. Thank you for your understanding.
