Although we are still working on the final touches and haven't taken the Instagram-worthy photos yet, we would still like to offer our cottage in advance; Come and enjoy a leisurely stay, with the Millingerwaard and its beautiful beaches/hiking opportunities and the Millinger Tea Garden just around the corner, in our fully furnished, new Tiny House with an authentic 'feel'. Whether you want to be by yourself and retreat by the fireplace, or meet us at the communal pool or under our cozy porch, you are welcome! The space We have been living on Weverstraat in Kekerdom since 2019, together with our children, Boas and Billie. When Peer and I met on a mountain in Sri Lanka, English was the language we spoke. When we found our dream home in Kekerdom a few years later, there was a white shed in the garden. From day one, we called that little shed “The Whitehouse.” After several years of doing odd jobs and slowly seeing both the house and the garden evolve into the “home” we had envisioned from the very first moment we walked around here, we felt in every way that we wanted to share this wonderful place. The idea of building a Tiny House as a guesthouse on the site of the now-rotten shed (primarily for family and friends, and to rent it out occasionally) was born, and we couldn't help but incorporate the old name into it. Since the summer of 2015, we've spent every free hour doing odd jobs, building, finding/picking up marketplace treasures, and building even more. We did as much as possible ourselves and mostly used recycled materials for both the construction and the interior. That probably also describes us a bit: we like to be self-reliant and enterprising, we see the beauty in the old and well-worn, we want to live with our 'footprint' in mind, and we feel deep happiness and gratitude that we can live here with our children in this beautiful way. Liefs, Peer and Sarina Guest access From your own driveway, go through the white gate and walk through the garden, past our chickens, under the rose arch, and directly via your own patio to the beautiful front door (with key box) of the TinyWhitehouse. A vintage sofa, an authentic kitchen/bathroom, underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove, a private terrace with a fireplace, and a cozy sleeping loft with a spacious, luxurious bed where you can sleep under the stars – all this ensures you can enjoy the ultimate experience! Whether you come alone, with your partner, or a friend, whether you're on a babymoon, or you choose to be the four of you all cozy and close to one another ;) – it's all possible in this delightful little house! (In the latter case, we will replace the vintage sofa for you with a comfortable double sofa bed.) Enjoy some time to yourself in the well-equipped TinyWhitehouse, which has a sunny terrace and indoor and outdoor heating, or join the fun in and around the heated swimming pool (which we also use), or come and sit with us under the porch by the fire with a guitar; you are welcome no matter what! Other things to note Our Tiny White House is very comfortable for two people, or two people with a child (0–4 years old). If you would like to come as a group of four, please let us know! In that case, we will replace the vintage sofa with a comfortable sofa bed that you can easily convert into a cozy bed in the evening, so that the four of you can also enjoy the atmosphere in beautiful Kekerdom. If you are coming with a child, please ask us about the possibilities. We can provide a camping cot, high chair, children's tableware, and toys if desired.
