Historic Mining Hotel: 1 RM/Double Beds

Step back in time at our charming historic boutique hotel, tucked away in a quiet old mining town setting. The space The Hotel Columbia was built in 1901 after a horrible fire in the winter of 1900 burned down 52 buildings including 4 other hotels in downtown Ward. Although we are working to preserve the Hotel, it does sit in the center of an aging mining community in a somewhat state of disrepair. Guest access The Hotel Columbia is an operational six room Hotel and Cafe. All the rentable rooms are located on the second floor. On the main floor, on the north side there is a library with an entrance/exit outside and used as the primary access point for hotel guests. A dining hall with 8 tables is located between the library and the commercial kitchen which sits on the south side of the building. The kitchen also has an entrance/exit that is generally open while the cafe is open and during day hours. Sliding lockable barn doors can separate all the lower level public spaces from each other creating privacy as needed. That said, this is an old hotel where sound can and does travel. As a guest, you can enter and exit the north door at any hour using an access code for the lock if the door isn't open. Other things to note The Cafe in the Hotel operates Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm. We are a popular destination for folks and the town will have a steady flow of traffic heading into the mountains on the weekends. Occasionally we host meetings, meetups, town events etc on the property on in the dining hall. Guests should be aware of visitors and participates on the property.
