Converted Stable overlooking the Caldon Canal
Converted Stable overlooking the Caldon Canal
Description
The Stable overlooks the Caldon Canal and has one bedroom (with a double bed, a single bed and cot if required), a modern shower room, and a fully equipped open plan kitchen and lounge. On the edge of the Peak District, this is a great base for exploring the local area, with the market town of Leek just 3 miles away. Ideal for couples and families interested in railways, canals and the countryside. Canalside pub 5 minutes walk across the field. The space Note: During the winter months please only book if you are happy/experienced lighting and keeping alight a wood/coal solid fuel stove for heating, as the background heating from the electric radiators is minimal. Fuel for the solid fuel stove is provided and if you are arriving late we will light it for you, but after that you are on your own! The stove may make the space unsuitable during winter months for small children/toddlers unless they are used to a wood burning stove at home. There is also an open staircase with no barrier/door which may make it unsuitable for small children. There are steps up to The Stable from the parking area, and internal staircase inside giving access to the bedroom. Kitchen appliances include kettle, toaster, two ring hob and combination microwave. Breakfast not included and no shops in walking distance, so best to arrive with provisions. Guest access Guests will have sole use of The Stable along with two outdoor seating areas giving views down the valley and across to the Caldon Canal. Other things to note We usually have eggs and honey for sale, from our own hens and bees, subject to availability.
