As the name suggests, The Match Box is a compact self- contained apartment adjoined to our charming old cottage in the beautiful Vale of Evesham close to Broadway and provides the perfect base for touring the Cotswolds. The Match Box enjoys spectacular views reaching over to Broadway Tower and provides stargazers the delight of Dark Skies. We look forward to meeting you! The Match Box can be booked on a Self-Catering basis. You will need to book The Match Box the usual way at the price that includes breakfast, but we will then send you a ‘request’ to adjust the booking. Once you ‘accept’ the request we will be able to adjust the reservation to the Self-Catering price. We provide more than just a bed with breakfast as The Match Box also offers you a neat, well designed private living/dining area with a pretty, galleried bedroom above with en-suite bathroom. The Living/Dining area is a small, but perfectly formed space and lovely and cosy to come back to after a busy day sight-seeing. In the summer months, you can open the patio doors and let the outside in. Two high quality deck chairs are provided in the cupboard under the stairs. Both can be taken outside or one makes a comfortable chair to use in The Match Box along with the sofa. By making use of every inch of space, its clever design packs in everything you will need including an Italian ‘hideaway kitchen’ that enables you to prepare breakfast and snacks/light meals at your leisure. The kitchen area houses a 2 ring Hob, Combi Microwave/Grill, Fridge with icebox, Slimline Dishwasher, and kitchen accessories. Separate kettle & toaster on a sideboard. (Please note: there is no full oven with grill and the microwave grill can only brown off food) Amenities/Facilities: Iron, Small 1/2 size ironing board, 2 Fold Out chairs, Wi-Fi, TV, DVD player & Bluetooth music speaker. The bedroom comfortably accommodates a king size bed (that can alternatively be made up as a pair of 2ft 6in single beds -slightly narrower than the average single bed). Bedside cabinets, chest of drawers and wardrobe & TV. Oak flooring. Rural views. En-suite bathroom located next to the bedroom. Bath with overhead Mira shower, toilet, basin, shaver - point and heated towel rail. Towels and complimentary toiletries are provided. You are welcome to use the many sitting areas in our nature-friendly cottage garden overlooking fields of sheep. There are chairs for you to sit with a drink whilst watching the birds and bees and there are also two sets of tables & chairs for dining alfresco (and two comfortable fold-out chairs in the cupboard under the stairs) There is a sun canopy with the table and chairs outside the patio doors. Guest access You have your own independent access down the side of our property and through a stable style door. The 'Hideaway' kitchen is only designed and kitted out for the preparation of your breakfast and for snacks/light meals. We are able to recommend some excellent places to dine out. The Match Box adjoins the main house via a door that is locked and connected to our kitchen. We do our best not to disturb you but occasionally you may hear us. If you have lots of luggage or just want a big space then maybe look elsewhere as The Match Box is not large (hence it’s name) and storage space is limited. Due to its size, we feel our property is not suitable for children, babies, people with mobility problems and pets. We recommend you come by car to explore our area. There are buses but they are few and far between. Our drive can only accommodate a small/medium car. Please contact us prior to booking if you have any concerns. The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Train has come to Broadway and is just a hop, skip and a jump from our Match Box. Broadway Station is the newest station on our railway and is the northern terminus. The station is situated on the north-western edge of Broadway village, a 15 minute walk from the centre. Regular trains to Cheltenham and all the stops in between. The Match Box is just a 25 min drive to Cheltenham Racecourse taking in beautiful scenery en route and through the charming town of Winchcombe. The Gold Cup awaits you! You can even catch the Steam Train from Broadway straight to the racecourse! Please note that for Cheltenham Race Week a minimum of 2 nights may be booked, either the first two of the 4-day event or the 3 & 4th. Strictly no smoking inside or out.
