Lovely country home on 6 wooded acres near Bastrop. The perfect place to relax after COTA, Austin & Bastrop events! The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with coffee and teas. Enjoy our organic chicken eggs, Kathy's bread & honey for breakfast! The comfortable living area includes books, board games, Smart TV & Roku. Enjoy a lovely view of the woods when bbq'g on the gas grill! We use eco-friendly, allergen & fragrance-free cleaning products. The space Bathrobes and slippers, plus shampoo and toothbrushes are provided. The master bathroom features a large tub (and Epsom salts for a nice soak at the end of the day!). The media center has a Smart TV (local channels only), Firestick for streaming your own channels, DVD player (plus an assortment of movies), Play Station 3 with games, and CD player. Also books, Scrabble and board games. Here in the country there are many wild critters around. You might see deer, opossums, and armadillos on the property, even hear the coyotes. We are beekeepers with several hives on the property (not close to the house) and our honey is always available in the house to try. We can accommodate long vehicles & trailers. The gravel driveway is 200' long, the gate 14' wide. We don't have city light pollution so star gazing can be very good. We have a telescope you can use, just let us know. Bastrop is known as the ‘most historic town in Texas’ with many restaurants including Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard (pizza made from scratch with lovely views of the Colorado river). The StoreHouse restaurant on Main Street is owned and operated by renowned chef Sonya Cote. She features local food plus organic vegetables from their farm a mile away from the restaurant. We highly recommend! Pay a visit the museum on Main Street to learn more of the interesting history of Bastrop and directions to the many historic homes in town. There is plenty of parking on the 200' long gravel driveway. Feel free to wander around the property, though we highly recommend closed toe shoes (boots & socks are available in the house). Other things to note There are several bee hives on the property, they are not close to the house. Because of this we only accept children over 12 years of age. Only guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property.
