Forest Ends - Woodland Views.
Description
Forest Ends is a peaceful wood cabin sitting on the edge of National Trust Woodlands near the Cotswolds Way. Immersed in nature and surrounded by revitalising woodlands, endless long walking routes or mountain biking and rolling hills. The cabin has a vaulted ceiling, huge windows, and a mezzanine bedroom accessed by a substantial ladder. It’s recently renovated and designed as a restfull retreat. Sheepscombe is a classically stunning Cotswolds village, beautiful year round. The space Huge windows and french doors look onto the edge of National Trust Woodland. Once inside you are immersed in peace and tranquility. The cabin consists of a bathroom with a shower, kitchen and dining area, sofa and TV area and a Super-King bed accessed by a ladder staircase, making it unsuitable for some. The ladder is constructed as a staircase however the steps are slightly narrower than a conventional staircase and it is steeper. Please note that you will need to descend backwards and use the handrail to ensure safety. The sofa can be converted into a king sized bed if you would like to stay in the cabin, without using the stairs. It would also be suitable for a family with 2 children sharing one of the beds. This is an open plan space so you could fold up the sofa bed during the day. As we are adjacent to woodlands and close to the Cotswolds Way you can spend your days walking or cycling in the woods and hills. There are a number of fantastic pubs you can reach by walking or cycling. Cheltenham is a 30 minute drive away, Gloucester is 20 minutes, Stroud is 15 minutes, Bath is 1hr 20 minutes. Painswick, the Queen of the Cotswolds, is less than 10 minutes by car or a stunning 1 hour leisurely walk. Sheepscombe is located in a valley that feels out of this world. The cabin is at the farthest end of a single track lane and there is a peaceful sense of isolation here. You will need your own transport as the bus only comes through Sheepscombe on Saturday, to take villagers to the amazing farmers market in Stroud. Uber taxis and pre-booked taxis can be used if you are heading out walking or wish to be collected from the end of a walk. We may be able to assist with local drop offs for the start of a walk - please ask. Every time of year is spectacular in Sheepscombe, from the bluebells and wild garlic in spring, the meadows in the summer, the autumn colours and the frost and stark beauty of the winter trees. The village has a lovely pub, The Butchers Arms and I would advise booking. There is a small village playground and a vast woodland to explore. The cabin is directly next to our house but has been designed to maximise privacy. We are happy to help with local tips, can offer a taxi service if arranged in advance and will usually be on site if there are any problems with the property. If you find that you need something we will always be happy to help. The cabin is an open plan space suitable for couples and families with older children or babies. The cabin is not suitable for toddlers and young children who may climb the ladder up to the bedroom. It is not yet possible to put a stairgate across the ladder. Guest access You are welcome to use the garden space around the cabin. There are walks accessible directly from the property, including from the very top of our garden. We will happily chat about your walking options. Other things to note Come up either side of the house and you should find us in the kitchen. If you need anything please knock or shout!
