Balenbouche Estate is a renowned guesthouse, organic farm, heritage site and family home. The 70-acre grounds feature a plantation house, yoga barn, and 18th-century sugar mill surrounded by ancient trees, pastures, and wild beaches. Dining, massages and tours are available. The pitons, hot springs and waterfalls are a short drive away. All our eco-friendly cottages (Waterlily, Banyan, Almond, Frangipani, Calabash and Moringa) are built without screens and cooled by the tropical breeze. The space Calabash Cottage is a private cabin near the main plantation house where our family lives. It offers a queen-sized bed with mosquito net and ensuite bathroom. The large, covered wooden deck has an outdoor kitchenette, sofa and small dining area. An extra bed or cot can be placed in the room. If you prefer not to cook, we also offer breakfast and dinner at the main plantation house on our beautiful veranda or served to you at your cottage. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property, which includes lush tropical vegetation with pastures, nature trails, a river, 2 secluded small coves, and an 18th century sugar mill. A third beach, convenience store, street food and vegetable stand are within walking distance. Other things to note Our buildings do not have air conditioning or screens, as they are built in a tropical, traditional and eco-friendly style.
