The beautiful green village of Fantanele is nestled at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. Our beautiful home is one of the many traditional Saxon houses - with a twist. The space Welcome to our lovingly restored farmhouse, a unique blend of history and comfort. This cozy retreat was once the original farmer's house, while the current "main house" across the yard used to serve as the stables for horses and carts—a nod to a time not so long ago when horse-drawn carts were the norm in Romanian villages. In fact, you may still spot our friendly neighbors using them today! Our house has been thoughtfully renovated to preserve its authentic charm while offering all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The original wooden beams, brick walls, and rustic ceilings have been kept intact, giving the space a warm and timeless character. The home is spread across two floors: *Ground Floor* - A cozy main bedroom - An open-plan living area with a pull-out couch - A fully equipped, modern kitchen Our updated kitchen replaces the original brick bread oven with a fully functional space where you can cook and dine at home with ease. - A bathroom with a shower Please note: the spaces on the ground floor flow into one another without separating doors, creating a spacious and connected atmosphere. *Upper Floor* - A large, inviting room with three single beds - A second bathroom with a shower and toilet Please note: Access via an open (and steep!) staircase — not suitable for small children We’re lucky to be part of a warm and welcoming village community. If you meet our neighbors, expect a friendly nod or wave—they’re always happy to say hello. Other things to note Our accomodation was already active on Airbnb in 2025. We had to redo the ad due to a host-change. Here are some of the reviews we've gotten in 2025: Philip from Germany: We spent a week in the peaceful village of Fantanele. The apartment is spacious, with two bathrooms, good internet, a comfortable bed, and a well-equipped kitchen. A bench on the terrace offers a perfect spot to relax and gaze at the majestic forest or the moon. A lovely, quiet forest path is less than a five-minute walk away, inviting you to take a seemingly endless stroll through the woods. Michal from Greece: The house is located in a quiet and relatively secluded village, suitable for those seeking peace and quiet. The house is simple and unpretentious with a small kitchen, but very charming; we had a wonderful experience! Mara from Romania: The house is exactly as pictured, with access to the entire courtyard. It offers privacy and peace, and the surrounding area is wooded and beautiful. Shops are a 10-minute drive away, and the host was available for any needs. I highly recommend it!
