Lakeside Annexe in hamlet next to the K&A canal

The Annexe is attached to our house which is on the edge of a small hamlet bordering the Kennet and Avon canal in the heart of the stunning Pewsey Vale. It overlooks our small private lake which is host to a variety of water birds including our beautiful pair of resident swans. We have some wonderful walks directly from the house which include two excellent village pubs. The location is ideal for trips to Bath, Salisbury, Oxford and London (fast train from Pewsey) plus many local attractions. The space The annexe is attached to my house which is set back from the road and backs on to the lovely Kennet and Avon canal. Access is from Milkhouse Water Bridge which is about 100m from the end of our little lane. From there you can walk in either direction and within 1.5 miles reach a pub, The Waterfront at Pewsey Wharf and The Royal Oak at Wootton Rivers. In the annexe, the kitchen is fully equipped with a lot of pots and pans - I like to cook and appreciate the amount of utensils you need to do this enjoyably. The back door of the kitchen leads out into a small yard where the bins are. I am currently waiting for my builder to start paving this - hopefully soon (we are now mid May 2025) so will be blocking off the days he is here and he won’t come if any guests have already pre booked unless by prior arrangement. Upstairs, the superking bed can divide into twins plus there is a new sofa bed downstairs if there are three of you. Please note there is a charge of £30 per day for a third guest. There is a utility cupboard in the bathroom with a new washer/drier (door beside the bath in one of the photos). Guest access My house sits in about an acre of garden mostly made up of a lake which is full of wildlife including our beautiful pair of swans. Guests may have the use of the lower half of the garden nearest the lane on the opposite side of my lake where there is a bench. There is another bench half way down the driveway by the lake where guests can sit and watch all the shenanigans happening on the lake, plus a teak table and chairs just in front of the French doors of the sitting room where guests can eat or simply relax and enjoy a bottle of wine after a day out. Deck type chairs are in the understairs cupboard if you want to sit more comfortably outside. Other things to note Dogs are very welcome here provided they are up to date with flea treatments and inoculations. I would ask you please not to let them upstairs or on the furniture - if that is likely then please bring a throw with you. There is a dog poo bin to the left of the Annexe fixed to the railway sleepers.
