The Cottage, Low Bradfield.

The Cottage is a unique dog-friendly Peak District home with beautiful views across the village cricket pitch. Situated between the tranquil Agden reservoir and Dam Flask, there are walks, pubs, cafes and a bistro on the doorstep. For cyclists, The Cottage is very close to ‘Le Tour’ route. For climbers, Stanage and Bamford edges are a short drive away. The Tramlines Festival, Sheffield for snooker at The Crucible, Utilita Arena, Meadowhall, Chatsworth House and Buxton are all easily reached. The space The 3-bedroom Cottage was fully renovated in summer 2026 and is VERY quirky which comes with pro’s and con’s. The main one is MIND YOUR HEAD! Anyone over 5 feet tall is at risk of head contact with some low ceilings/staircases. Originally two ‘1-up, 1-down’ cottages knocked together (we don’t know when), means the property has 3 split-level floors so has lots of steps, and a cellar with washing machine, drying rack and safe bike storage at street level. In heavy rain, a little spring appears in the cellar - please don’t worry about this. To enter The Cottage living space, there are 9 steps through the garden on the left of the property. The main door brings you into the kitchen down 3 steps, with a cloakroom/WC on the right. Dogs are more than welcome to be left in the cloakroom for up to 4 hours so guests can enjoy dog-free activities. The kitchen is very well-equipped for self-catering, including integrated dishwasher, electric hob and oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, hand blender and fridge with freezer box. You can cook or enjoy coffee at the quartz breakfast bar whilst watching Cricket or Crown Green Bowls. The Rayburn is strictly decorative and used for storing baking trays. Up 3 steps to the living room with comfy seating for 6 on a corner sofa and floor-cushions, set around a multi fuel stove (you can purchase logs locally) and a 43” flat screen Freely Smart TV. There is also a drop leaf dining table with stackable stools to seat 6 people. A curved staircase (no handrails) down from the living room takes you down to the very private low-ceilinged small-double bedroom 2 suite, with 32” flat screen Freely Smart TV and the luxury en-suite corner bath, radiator and basin. Double built in wardrobe. A curved staircase with hand rails up from the living room takes you up to the main bathroom with shower (mind your head!), WC, radiator and basin. Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed, bedside cabinets, hairdryer, full length mirror especially for brides and wedding guests, and a double wardrobe. Bedroom 3 has a narrow doorway gap (most adults manage by walking through sideways) and 3 steps down to access the twin beds with under-bed clothes storage boxes and travel cot. These beds can be pushed together easily if required, to make a super king sized bed. Outside, there is a picnic bench and Weber barbecue (please clean after use) on the patio to dine out. The lawned areas are lovely sun-traps for taking in the views and fantastic for watching the cricket. Bedding and towels included alongside a few toilet rolls and cleaning supplies to get you started. We do not provide shower gel or hair products. We welcome respectful contractors. Dogs are very welcome in all areas of the cottage, poo bags, bowls and dog towels available in cloakroom cupboard. Please bring your own throws if your dogs wish to go on beds or sofas. The garden is mostly enclosed and has a stone staircase onto the neighbouring property (no entry) which may be a risk to unsupervised children. Children are very welcome too and will love all the quirky cubbyholes, windows and the local park. Our Cow Molly ice cream parlour/working farm is a must-do! 2 extendable stair gates (which may only fit half way up the curved staircases), high chair and travel cot always available.
