Small cabin on island

"Kjempehytta" is an Idyllic small cabin located on a beautiful island in Lake Toke in Bamble, Telemark. A perfect place to see the the starry night sky, and enjoy nature. In summer you can go swimming an fishing in the lake. To get to the island you need to padle a canoe. The canoe and two lifejackets are included in the rent. You find more information about the cabin below. The space Getting there: The village near the island is called Rørholt. It is easiest to get to Rørholt by car or bicycle. The only public transport all the way to Rørholt is the school bus on weekdays. With the school bus you can get to "Rørholt gamle skole". You find the bus timetable on the Entur travelplanner. The nearest buss stop for regular buses is Langrønningen, about 13 km from where you find the canoe. The nearest train stations are Porsgrunn and Neslandsvatn, both about 40 km from Rørholt. There is a double bed (You need to bring sleeping bags.), a table and two chairs and a woodburning oven in the cabin. Bring your own primus, pots and pans for cooking. Firewood kan be purchased on the pier where the canoe is located for 9 euros pr. bag. You can either pay cash (NOK) or in the airbnb-app. Guest access You park your car on the mainland where you pick up the canoe. You can use the canoe for the duration of your whole stay. There is an organic toilet 250 m walk from the cabin. Other things to note There is no bathroom or electricity in the cabin. In the summer you can swim in the lake. The water in the lake is drinkable. There are other cabins on the island, but nobody lives there on a permanent basis. In summer/fall there are animals grazing on the island. Please keep dogs on leash. Please do not light fires on the ground from April 15th to September 15h due to risk of forest fires. Guests must clean the cabin before they leave. There is equipment for cleaning in the cabin. From the beginning of August you can pick blueberries in the forest. The lake is quite big, and there are lots of campsites along the shore.
