Beach house "Port Na Criche" on Balephetrish Bay

Our pretty, traditional, black house/beach house "Port-na-criche" (pronounced Port-Na-Cree), which we acquired last year had been in the same family for 200 years. We have been visiting Tiree for 20 years and hope you will enjoy this house's fantastic, quiet and exclusive location. This house has BT Unlimited Fibre BB which is a real bonus as BB can be patchy on Tiree. Vodaphone and EE Mobile works. The space Whilst this house will appeal to families with one dog (max. please) it will also be a suitable retreat for couples. Please note that it has a steep narrow staircase so keep that in mind if you have young children or you have mobility issues. It is the perfect size, though - not too big, not too small. Cosy in all the right places. Bird-watchers, wild-life enthusiasts, Northern Lights seekers, Star-gazers are all welcome! Be aware that your mobile reception may be limited though luckily we can get 4G because of the proximity to Coll. If you have Vodaphone and EE you're fine, otherwise you may need to buy a pay-as-you-go SIM card for your visit. In the new year we will have BT Infinity Fibre BB along with their Entertainment package which means 12 premium TV channels plus Freeview. Great for when the weather is passing over our island. When the weather is good (Tiree has a great reputation for being sunny) and you are taking a break from watersports (if that's your thing) you can sit in the pretty front garden and enjoy looking at the wild-life pottering about the beach. Or you may be lucky and see Basking Sharks in the bay! Guest access It's important (as the house is near a working farm) to close the gate behind you. The last part of the track, once you're through the farm gate, is a bit pitted in areas, so please drive slowly. We are aiming to get some work done on it this year. You can park beside the house or on the machair. Be respectful of our neighbours please. Other things to note It is beside a fabulous beach, suitable for swimming in the summer months where you can see Basking Sharks, Otters, Curlew amongst other wild-life. The house is close to the wind-surfing loch and surfing beaches of Balevullin and the Green. It is 5 minutes drive from the airport (where you can hire a car from McLellan Motors) and the community shop at Crossapol. 15 minutes away, you will find the island's COOP.
