Comtois Hill Family Getaway

Our house is nestled in the mountains in the tiny town of Shrewsbury. On 8+ acres, it is private and serene. We are 20 mins from Okemo and 35 mins from Killington. The bountiful Rutland Farmers Market- best in the state, is nearby, as are skiing, hiking, biking, nearby lakes for swimming and kayaking. It's our little slice of heaven, at any time of year. The space The house is spacious and airy with many living areas, comfortable bedrooms, a spacious, well-equipped kitchen and an enormous deck-- and lovely views. There are 4 bedrooms and two dens to sleep 12- two master bedrooms with king beds, another with a king, another with two twins, and two dens with (full size) pull out couches. The upstairs master, and two of the downstairs bedrooms have new (Dec 2018) fluffy down comforters! There are 3 large living areas: a great room with two wood fireplaces and the dining table, a tv room with a couch big enough for the whole family, and a game room for playing music or games. We have spent many hours cooking here and we take our meals very seriously. The kitchen is well equipped with a Thermador 6 burner range, wall oven, outdoor gas and charcoal grills, two dishwashers, and plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses. We keep a well stocked pantry as well. The deck is great for relaxing in the sun and eating outside and enjoying the view. We keep a healthy array of tomatoes and herbs growing in pots in the summer. Feel free to harvest! Guest access The whole house and 8 acre property, which is great for hiking and snowshoeing, is accessible. Feel free to use items in the pantry, play board games, read books and play records (Please treat them with respect!! and return to the collection) The tv is connected to an AppleTV with Direct TVNow, including Netflix, HBO, SHO, etc. Also: WIFI, washer-dryer, snow shoes and sleds in the garage. Other things to note Please note house is on a dirt road, and has a steep driveway. 4 Wheel Drive is highly recommended in winter months. Also there is only spotty cell service in the area, don't count on it- but wifi calling would work in the house, if your carrier supports it (AT&T does). Registration Details MRT-10126712
