Other things to note A wonderful place to enjoy get togethers, plus a great location to explore local countryside, the North Devon coast, plus Exeter and the South Devon coast with excellent hourly train links getting you to Exeter in around 40 minutes. Close to the famous Tarka Trail with fabulous cycling along to the North Devon coast path. Right by the Ridge and Valley walk and close to the Two Moors Way. Walk to the top of the hill for views of Dartmoor and Exmoor. LOCKABLE SHED Lockable sheds for bikes. DOG FRIENDLY Well-behaved dogs over 1 year old welcome, there is a stairgate in place to keep muddy dogs downstairs to protect upstairs carpets and bedding. Dog towels provided and an outside tap for muddy paws. TRAIN NEARBY A car is helpful at this rural spot, but if you want to holiday without a car, Eggesford train station is only 3 miles away. GOOD PUBS & SHOPS NEARBY Less than a mile from the nearest pub which serves good food and a lovely Sunday roast. There is a fantastic farm shop 3 miles away offering fresh organic and local produce, plus well-stocked grocery shops in Chulmleigh or Lapford. The nearest large supermarket is a 25 minute drive, deliveries can be arranged (Tesco, Asda, Sainsburies). LITTLE DART RIVER The Little Dart Valley is a beautiful undiscovered part of mid-Devon. Along the bottom of the garden about 60 metres from the farmhouse is the Little Dart River. It can be a gentle flowing river, or more full after heavy rain. Supervision of children and dogs is necessary. There is a leat in-between the farmhouse and the river acting as a natural barrier. We can also install fencing to help enclose the garden upon request. WONDERFUL COUNTRY LANES The lane walking around here is spectacular with wonderful hedgerows and views of Dartmoor and Exmoor at the top of the hills. There is minimal traffic but working farms nearby with milk lorries and tractors coming along the lane at the back of the house.
