Other Charlestown and area beaches and ponds are within easy driving distance and provide opportunities for both salt water and fresh water activities. The entry foyer and living room offer comfortable places to sit and read, play games or just be together for conversation and sharing the fun of the day. Built in 1830, this farmhouse Inn is updated throughout with some of the original wood floors still withstanding the footsteps of time. The guest rooms are comfortably contemporary. Cooking facilities are not available. The outdoor shower is a welcome refresher after a day of activity. Wash off beach sand and suntan oil, or just enjoy an evening shower under the stars. Day trips to Newport, Mystic Seaport and Aquarium, Providence, Blackstone River Valley, and Block Island are sure to delight. Area restaurants proudly serve local caught seafood for delicious and delightful lunches and dinners; many locations offer summer al fresco dining, both casual and more formal. There are a lot of good restaurant choices in the area. Area shops, boutiques and galleries are filled with gifts, fashions, jewelry, art, home accents and things for children.
