Moinhos do Dao - Eco Homestead

Are you looking for more than just accommodation? Would you like to experience life closer to nature? Stay in your own private apartment while enjoying our homestead and surrounding nature. Moinhos is our home and an ongoing family project, where we grow food, produce our own energy, care for animals and slowly restore the old property. During your stay, you are welcome to explore the surroundings, swim in the river, watch wildlife or simply find a quiet place to relax. The space This private apartment is set in a beautifully restored traditional Portuguese granite building, combining rustic character with comfort. The open-plan space features a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, cozy living room, and a comfortable double bed. It has a private bathroom. Outside, you'll find your own private garden with a terrace and seating area. Guests are welcome to explore the home-stead, with access to the river beach, stand-up paddle boards, forest trails, and other shared outdoor spaces. Guest access While you'll enjoy your private apartment and plenty of privacy, you may see volunteers and daily farm life during your stay. Other things to note Moinhos do Dão is a peaceful historic water mill estate in a secluded river valley, surrounded by forest and nature. The estate is off-grid, offering a unique opportunity to experience a simpler way of life. The nearest village is about 10 minutes by car (30-minute walk) away and has cafés and a small minimarket. Larger supermarkets, restaurants, and other services can be found in Mangualde (25 minutes by car) or Viseu (35 minutes). The last part of the journey is along a gravel road. It is suitable for normal cars, but we recommend driving slowly and carefully. Registration Details 150611/AL
