Description
Newstead Farm - nestling in the rolling hills near Nottingham Road, is surrounded by horses and Nguni cows with two dams for boating and bass fishing, a tennis court, swimming pool and a significant history that dates back to the late 1840. This rural smallholding gives you the chance to experience the true peace and tranquillity of the country, including a 25ha indigenous forest, but yet is very central to top restaurants, golf courses, wedding venues and schools. The space This comfortable spacious en suite bedroom in the original thatch building built in 1848 exudes charm from a bygone era. The beds can be made up as two single beds or as a king bed. A coffee and tea station is offered in the room. There are no cooking facilities. The farm is a working farm with cows, horses, plum trees and 2 dams where you can enjoy some relaxed fishing or a picnic on the lawns. We have a tennis court for those of you that wish to be more energetic! There are some lovely walks and excellent mountain biking routes directly from the farm. Gowrie Golf Course and Bosch Golf Course are close by. We also have 4 self catering cottages if you prefer to have more privacy and a fully equipped kitchen as well as 3 other house rooms. Guest access You need a car to get around the area. There is plenty of parking on the farm. During your stay We live on the property with our children. Other things to note There is lots of open water that is not fenced including a swimming pool and three dams. There are dogs on the property. Coffee and tea is available in the rooms. We do not offer meals. We suggest you visit one of the many excellent restaurants in the area.
