Relax with the whole family in this peaceful cabin, which is located by itself in scenic surroundings. The space Are you looking for a spacious cabin in a peaceful and quiet setting, where you can connect with nature? Where can the kids play freely without being afraid of any traffic other than your own car? Where the closest neighbors are a herd of cool goats and “Juni Lykke” – a friendly fjord horse that grazes in the beautiful pasture landscape. A cabin you can drive right up to, with modern amenities? A place to be just to enjoy some peace and quiet and soak up the sun on the terrace (during summer, there is sun from early morning to late evening). Or are you the active type and want a place that is a good starting point for the many great mountain hikes and other activities that Sauda has to offer? Then maybe this cabin is for you! I rent the cabin to respectable people and families. It is located entirely by itself, with no neighboring cabins, and offers fantastic views down to Sauda Fjord and up to Svandal Ski Center and Ravnafjell. Spring: Spring in Svandal is amazing. The lush valley turns bright green, with white, snow-capped mountain peaks. If you love Randonnée, May might be the best time to go on peak hikes. There are many nice mountain hikes to go on in the area. You can swim in mountain lakes or in Lake Sauda. It is also popular for families with children to visit the Sauda indoor swimming pool, which has diving boards and, most importantly, a popular outdoor pool with a water slide, climbing wall, and outdoor hot tub. Allmannajuvet, Svandalsfossen Waterfall, and the giant's kettles in Åbødalen are undoubtedly also worth a visit in the summer. It is a 10-minute drive from the cabin to the center of Sauda. A cozy downtown area with great shopping options, a liquor store, and many grocery stores. Or, if you're a golfer, you can play a round at Sauda Golf Course, which is a 9-hole forest course with narrow and challenging fairways on hilly terrain. The course is located in an idyllic fjord and mountain landscape between Rødstjødna and Saudafjorden, approximately a 10-minute drive from the cabin (the turnoff at the tunnel in Saudasjøen is signposted from the main road). A 9-hole disc golf course has also been established at Sauda Ski Resort! And I've bought a disc golf basket that is located right outside the cabin, so you can just practice putting here ;) In the summer, there are very good sun conditions, from morning to evening, a large terrace with a gas grill, fire pit, and outdoor furniture, and two sun loungers with comfortable cushions. There is also an inflatable pool for children, for use during the summer. Autumn: The crisp, clear autumn air up here is magical. There are usually plenty of blueberries here, and you can also find chanterelles in the woods. The forest and the mountains are gorgeous in the fall, with all their beautiful colors. Winter The cabin is ideally located as a starting point for Rando hikes (you can put on your skis and start your Rando hike right from the cabin). Otherwise, it is a short distance to the cross-country ski trails in Svandal (a few hundred meters' walk up to the start of the Svandalsløypen trail, or a short drive to the Lyngmyr ski resort (Nordstøldalen)). It is not “ski-out,” but you can ski down to the cabin from the top of the Sauda ski resort (along the Djuvsbotten road or off-piste). It takes about 5 minutes to drive to Sauda Ski Center, or you can walk up Djuvsbottenvegen for a few turns and then ski and ski down via the cross-country ski trail that leads to the ski center. The road up to the cabin is plowed in winter, but it's worth noting that in freezing conditions and with fresh snow, driving the last 150 meters (500 feet) can be challenging. In that case, four-wheel drive is a clear advantage for getting up the last hill. If it is slippery, it is possible to park (by backing up as far as you can get up the hill) at the bottom of the hill. There are also two registered parking spaces next to the red garage that can be used if you choose not to drive all the way up. The last stretch of road up to the cabin is private and leads only to this cabin, so it's perfectly fine to park on this road if you don't make it all the way up. Winter break/Easter break: During these periods, the property is either rented in full or divided into two periods, Friday–Wednesday and Wednesday–Sunday. Wi-Fi from Altibox is available in the cabin, so you can stream to your heart's content here! There are heating cables in the living room/kitchen, hallway, laundry room, and bathroom. The cabin is of high quality and is well equipped with various kitchen appliances/electrical appliances. Here, both bakers and gourmets can find what they're looking for :) All the beds are equipped with good, comfortable mattresses. In addition to the specified sleeping spaces, there are two extra mattresses in a closet that can be placed in the loft, where there is plenty of space, should additional sleeping spaces be needed. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin, except for the storage cubicle by the loft, where personal belongings are kept. Guests do not have access to the annex (private outbuilding). NOTE: The sauna in the bathroom is not yet completed and is currently being used to store cleaning products.
