Tucked a block away from the national forest, this enchanting cabin shows off open beam ceiling, fir floors, river rock fireplace, stocked kitchen, 2 main level bedrooms - one king and one queen - and an upstairs sleeping loft with A shaped ceiling. Enjoy an inviting hot tub on the back deck and make smores in a backyard natural fire pit. There is a secured ladder to the sleeping loft. Families with children must monitor young ones you do not want up in the loft. Ladder is not removable. Guest access The cabin has a lockbox. The lockbox code should be visible once you book. Look for Check In Instructions under Guest Resources. A map with instructions to the cabin can be emailed to you on request. Please contact us if you don't see the key code on your instructions . Contact phone is not allowed in this listing but we should be able to give it to you with the map. Other things to note The cabin is located on a narrow country road. The road dead ends a short distance past the cabin. The roads in the Woodland area are unpaved. Hofeldt is broken into 3 sections because of terrain. A map with instructions can be sent to you upon request. Refer to "Arrival Guide" and directions are located there. Map and instructions available by request. There is no on road parking, but there is space for up to 3 cars in front of the cabin (depending on size). Just past the cabin, there is an off road space to park another car. Please don't block the road. The front outdoor area including driveway and road, is monitored by a security camera. No indoor camera. The cabin is located in a heavily wooded area, so there is limited cell phone use. There is no landline phone in the cabin. If you go toward the main highway, you can get cellphone coverage. Sometimes a short walk will get you bars. Most people can get cell coverage at the cabin thru the WiFi. The WiFi is not secure, but there are no next door neighbors, so there is no need for a login. The fireplace is wood burning although we don't supply wood. The high cost of a cord of wood and no dry storage made furnishing wood prohibitive. The cabin is heated with a heat pump and furnace. Wood can be purchased at the grocery store in Welches if you don't bring your own. Fire logs burn nicely, too, and much less work to start and keep a fire going. Please keep the screen up when having a fire as sparks can come out into the room and has caused little burn spots on the wool area rug. If cardboard is in front of the fireplace on arrival, you can remove. There is no flue and we do lose heat up the chimney. Don't put the cardboard back if you have had a fire as it could catch on fire from hot embers still simmering in the fireplace. The sleeping loft is accessed via a ladder. The ladder can not be moved to prevent small children from climbing up. Block the ladder if you don't want children in the loft, and it may not suit some guests. The Smart TV has multiple apps for streaming your premiere services. There is free access to some of the owners services such as streaming DirectTV. If you use your own logins for premium, don't forget to sign out when you leave. A fast WiFi connection allows you to work online from the cabin if you wish. PET RULES. Pets are to be kept off the furniture and bedding on all the beds. Bring coverings you can take home, if your pet is used to being up where you are. If you didn't bring coverings, there's pet coverings (for the couch) in the cabinet behind the chair. The one for the bed is in the front bedroom closet. If you need one for both beds, use the couch one for second bedroom. It's hard to get pet hair out of fabric even thru the wash process. We want you to be able to bring your pets but not everyone has a pet and some are sensitive to pet dander. This helps housekeeping. HOT TUB. USE THE HOT TUB AT YOUR OWN RISK! DO NOT LET CHILDREN USE IT LIKE A SWIMMING POOL. We've had childrens' toys get stuck in the filter which shuts down the hot tub and necessitate a service call. That costs a minimum of 100.00. We will charge it back to you. Don't leave children in the hot tub unattended. The water is hot and deep, it's not safe. Consider use if you have physical disabilities. Again, 102-104 degree water can cause light-headedness or fainting. Don't go in alone. if using heart monitors or other medical devices, it's not recommended to use the hot tub. Check with your doctor. Do not get out of the tub, go off the deck and back into the water. That brings dirt and debris into the tub, muddies the water and clogs the filter. After last use each day, put in one of the small cups of shock into the tub and run the jets for 10 minutes before putting on the cover. They are located on the kitchen counter next to the back door. Because the cabin is often booked with back to back reservations, the hot tub gets heavy use. The mountain weather is hard on hot tubs, too. Sometimes parts wear out or break down. We have a hot tub company go weekly to clean and balance chemicals, usually on Wednesdays. Check your emails for additional info. We strive to communicate with you as soon as possible if something happens so you are aware, but will not consider cancellations for that cause only. We try to work with guests on such matters and try to have the hot tub fixed as quickly as possible. If you are booking to only come and sit in the hot tub, we can't give a full refund. There are no guarantees in such cases. We have had guests break the hot tub while partying. Don't book if that is your intention. Hot tubs are expensive to maintain. Thanks for understanding. Check the house manual for further info both in this listing and a physical book at the cabin.
