Country house with a beautiful forest. Basic and simple, surrounded by trees and wildlife. Leaving the house, the road leads to Tikal and Lake Peten Itza. There is a free pier with incredible sunsets 10 minutes away. Simple, very basic, clean and cozy with a private bathroom and air conditioning (NO HOT WATER). There is parking on the property. You will hear the roar of the monkeys and the song of the birds. If you are a nature lover and what simple you chose well, welcome. If you're adventurous and nature is your thing, this is a good place to immerse yourself in it. It's not luxurious. It's simple but very comfortable and, above all, very clean. 2 yoga mats. We have an outdoor kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and some appliances. You park inside the house, The sound of cars and motorcycles is a reality, since we are located on the road to Tikal. If you are sensitive to these sounds, we may not be your best option. The room includes 2 towels, 1 set of sheets, 2 pillows, toilet paper. Shared use of the outdoor kitchen Housekeeping is not included during your stay. If you don't love forests and nature, the simple and the straightforward, we may not be your best option. In the jungle, it is normal to encounter spiders, ants, toads, caterpillars, frogs, many mosquitoes and other insects. All of them are part of the natural environment and the ecosystem. In other words, we live in their home. We cannot guarantee that you will not see them in the garden or in the house's resting area, because we live in the middle of the forest. If you have a strong phobia of any insect, this may not be the most comfortable place for you. The vehicles are a bit noisy on the road, although the quiet times are very enjoyable. Just so you know, if you love swimming, hiking, exercising, bird watching, and appreciating every living thing, you made a good choice. Our Local Experience We live near the homes of local families, because real connections make the trip unique. Sharing with locals at traditional parties, more intimate gatherings, shopping in more authentic markets and stores. Try the typical cuisine at stalls, in home kitchens, on stoves and in markets, where each dish tells a story. And when we return home, we enjoy hosting new traveling friends and showing them how we live and what we love about our small village. And because we're passionate about living in it. Call or text us if you need anything. We'll be available. Other things to note We are located 30 minutes from the airport and the bus station, 27 minutes from Tikal and 45 minutes from Yaxha. We are close to restaurants, beaches, private or public docks, a mini supermarket and many stores. When you leave the house, you can find public or private transportation to Tikal right outside the house. This village is ideal for hiking, water activities, biking or just relaxing. The sound of vehicles is a reality, as we are located on the main street that leads to Tikal. Remember that howler monkeys live in the forest around the house, and they howl loudly. It's definitely a wild experience. The village of El Remate is frequented by tourists and in high seasons it is noisier and busier. In low seasons it is very quiet. There is the roar of the howler monkeys, and there is a lot of wildlife, birds, iguanas, and basilisks. The experience is magical and very wild, a real adventure.
