Rustico "Al Corte" – charming Ticino house with private courtyard The Rustico Al Corte is located in the old village core of Giumaglio, surrounded by traditional Ticino rusticos and small, charming alleys. Here guests can enjoy the relaxed and authentic atmosphere of a typical Ticino village. The house is ideal for a getaway for two, for families or for a stay with friends. Four-legged friends are also welcome. The space In the lower part of the house is a rustic living area with an original stone floor and a well-equipped kitchen. Access to the upper floor is via a traditional external staircase. There is a small, cozy balcony, the bedrooms and the bathroom. With every look out of the windows, you can feel the picturesque character of the nearby gardens and stone roofs. The Rustico has two bedrooms: one room with a double bed (160x200 cm) One room with two single beds (90 x 200 cm) A special highlight is the beautiful, private courtyard. A traditional Ticino stone table with stone benches invites you to linger. Vines grow above the courtyard, providing pleasant shade in the summer and creating a very special vacation atmosphere. Here, guests can enjoy their meals outdoors, play together, read a book or simply experience the tranquility and authentic Ticino ambiance. Art Pictures by the artist Livia Brusetti decorate the cottage. Other works of art can be viewed directly at her place on request. Guest access By public transit: Take the train to Locarno. At the end of the tracks is the bus stop. Take bus 315 towards Cavergno. Get off in Giumaglio (press the stop button to Coglio, otherwise the bus will not stop). Car to Giumaglio: From Locarno, drive towards Vallemaggia to Giumaglio. Public parking: In the village, there is public parking marked as a blue zone. The parking ticket can be purchased on site via Twint or ParkingPay, with the following options: Day pass: CHF 5.00 Weekly pass: CHF 25.00 Monthly pass: CHF 50.00 Other things to note Just 2 minutes from the house, a beautiful waterfall invites you to swim and sunbathe. In about 5 minutes, you can reach a long suspension bridge over the river Maggia, which leads to beautiful and peaceful natural areas. Walks through vineyards and chestnut forests offer pure nature and provide new energy and relaxation from everyday life. Excursions In the Maggia Valley and the surrounding region there are numerous excursion and hiking opportunities. A variety of hiking maps and travel books are available in the cottage. Shopping opportunities Shopping facilities and a post office are located in Maggia, about 3 km away. The Poncini bakery delivers fresh pastries to the village daily from Monday to Saturday at 8:15 am. Panettone can also be obtained by pre-order (the delivery van stops on the old village street before the ascent to the church). Restaurants In the surrounding area, there are cozy restaurants and traditional Grötti where you have the opportunity to enjoy authentic local specialties. Some of these places are even within walking distance and also offer a selection of vegetarian dishes.
