Description
They are simple but cozy houses to spend a great weekend in an enviable environment such as Agres and the Sierra Mariola. They have 3 bedrooms, heating, kitchenware, bedding, TV, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, microwave, toaster, a full bathroom... – First floor: Kitchen, living-dining room and bathroom. – Second floor: Two double bedrooms (two full-size beds) and one bedroom with two double beds. The space Agres is a mountain village, hugging the slope of the Sierra Mariola, today a Natural Park, with an altitude between 700 and 800 meters. A small town of more than 600 inhabitants that lives in full harmony with the mountain, with its steep streets, its abundant fountains and its aromatic herbs that give it a special aroma. Going up to Agres is to establish direct communication with nature like nowhere else. A well-preserved old town, full of fresh water fountains. It is basically dedicated to agriculture, with a preference for the production of olives, almonds, apples and other rainfed fruit trees. In the upper part of the village, on the slopes of the Sierra de Mariola, was the Castle, now demolished, and the Franciscan Convent where, according to tradition, an image of the Virgin miraculously appeared fleeing a fire in the city of Alicante on August 31, 1484. But the great miracle of Agres is its water that emanates in any corner: there are fountains in some streets, water between the stones, soaks the roots, assaults the roads, becomes waterfalls... Guest access In Agres, in the heart of the Sierra de Mariola, is the Restaurant Pensió Mariola, which since 1938 has been serving its customers in a family atmosphere. "The Antolí brothers are committed to traditional cuisine like the one our grandparents made when they founded the restaurant, which our parents later continued and now we do. We are the third generation.” The restaurant is known for its typical homemade meals from the surrounding area. Traditional and mountain dishes with local products, including "borreta", "bajoques farcides", olleta, rabbit, meats, sausages, pericana, appetizers, desserts, etc. Registration Details Valencia - Regional registration number ARU000043-A
