Dog-friendly blue Scandi hot tub lodge
Dog-friendly blue Scandi hot tub lodge
Description
A dog-friendly Scandinavian lodge for four with cool blue interiors, two en-suite bedrooms, countryside views and a private covered hot tub. The space Hekla is a stylish two-bedroom lodge designed for guests who want countryside calm, flexible sleeping arrangements and the comfort of a boutique self-catering retreat. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is bright, calm and easy to enjoy together. A large picture window frames the surrounding countryside, while cool blue tones, soft lighting and simple Scandinavian-inspired styling create a restful, airy feel. There is a comfortable sofa, Smart TV, dining space for four, built-in seating and underfloor heating for year-round stays. The kitchenette is set up for relaxed self-catering, with a small combi microwave/oven, dishwasher, four-ring induction hob, under-counter fridge, kettle, toaster and cafetière, plus crockery, glassware, cookware and useful kitchen essentials. Please note that Hekla does not have a freezer. There are two spacious bedrooms, both with super-king-size beds that can be configured as twins by arrangement. Both bedrooms have contemporary en-suite bathrooms: one has a walk-in shower, while the other has a freestanding bath and separate shower. Linen, towels, hairdryers, Skandinavisk toiletries and hot tub robes are provided for four guests. Outside, Hekla has a private paved patio with outdoor dining space for four, a charcoal BBQ and a private hot tub sheltered beneath a pergola. It’s ideal for slow breakfasts, sunset drinks, BBQ evenings and year-round hot tub soaks after exploring Richmond, Barnard Castle or the Yorkshire Dales. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of Hekla lodge, the private patio, covered hot tub, outdoor dining area and charcoal BBQ. There is private on-site parking for one car, conveniently located to the left of the lodge. Hekla is one of the easier-access lodges at Greenbank, with parking next to the lodge on one level; however, please note there is a small step at the lodge entrance, steps down to the hot tub area, and small steps into both en-suite showers. Guests can also enjoy the wider Greenbank Lodges setting, including the easy one-kilometre walking loop around the site. Other things to note Hekla welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs. A charge of £25 per dog, per stay applies. Dog-friendly touches include a dog bowl, complimentary treats and spare waste bags. Please note that the garden next to the lodge is not enclosed, so dogs should be supervised outside. A welcome hamper is included, with Polaroid camera film, playing cards, coffee, tea, crisps and milk. The Polaroid camera is provided for guest use during the stay and should remain in the lodge for future guests to enjoy. Hekla is single-storey inside and is one of the Greenbank lodges best suited to guests with limited mobility, but it is not wheelchair accessible. There is a small step at the lodge entrance, steps down to the hot tub area, and small steps into both en-suite showers. Hekla is suitable for families, couples and friends, but Greenbank Lodges does not provide cots or highchairs, and the two-bedroom lodges are described as less suited to infants.
