This quaint cottage on 6 acres overlooking a tranquil lake and tree kangaroo conservation area, offers a peaceful hideaway where rustic charm meets natural beauty. Enjoy a rainforest drive to Ravenshoe with the highest pub in the Southern Hemisphere or follow the waterfall trail visiting farm shops and crater lakes en route. The space Mimi's Farmhouse Cottage has space to accomodate up to 4 guests across two lovely bedrooms. Beyond the bedrooms, inside this private country sanctuary, you'll appreciate the warmth of the timber throughout, light filled living spaces (with gorgeous views from every corner), claw-foot bath and reverse cycle heating for those cosy evenings and comfort in any season. There is a well equipped kitchen and French doors opening out over the lake inviting you to enjoy a drink outdoors on the verandah. Mimi's offers a large outside area separated from the horse paddocks backing on to rainforest with a large array of bird life. As part of the properties charm, a pleasant surprise there are also two horses that live here and they may arrive near the window! 🐴 Prinny (Mystique) stockhorse/quarter horse mare retired and supported with her medical condition 🐴 Barney Rescued Kosciuszko Brumby/trail packhorse (gelding) Here, you can truly unwind and take in the rural charm at your own pace-whether that's enjoying a quiet morning watching the wildlife with a cuppa or watching the sunset over the paddock/lake (yes, it's a star in it's own right)! Just minutes from the vibrant villages of Yunguburra and Malanda, Mimi's is a truly special place to nestle down into and enjoy, as well as a very convenient base for exploring all that the Atherton Tablelands has to offer. Guest access Quaint, quiet and cosy, guests are welcome to access the immediate area of Mimi's verandah/porch and house yard. This charming hideaway offers a queen-size bedroom that blends comfort with rustic character, offering a warm and spacious atmosphere. The second bedroom has two single beds. The furnishings are simple, comfortable and the peace and quiet and bird songs are delightful! To help you settle in, we've provided complementary sachets of local tea and Coffee and the fridge is stocked with farm fresh local milk and farm eggs to start your day out right! Please note: The first 3 bookings ( who visit in our opening stages) will also be gifted a luscious chocolate treat, crafted by our local (especially talented) chocolatiers. Other things to note All linen, towels, soap, shampoo, local tea, local coffee, local eggs and local milk is provided as well as a few fresh items from our garden if available. Olive oil, pepper and salt is provided. There is a full farmhouse kitchen with large fridge/freezer, electric stove and oven with associated cookware. The property is still very new and a couple of outside areas are still being established due to weather delays, including horse stables and some garden landscaping. There is no Wifi sorry Please kindly note: Mimi's is only available for up to 4 guests at anytime. We ask that there are no additional unregistered guests/visitors. Parties, events or location shoots are not to be held at Mimi's without prior arrangement. As much as we love animals, we kindly ask that no pets or domestic animals be brought along and that this be respected when booking, and appreciate your understanding. This property is also home to many species of wildlife and we would like to ensure the property remains a safe haven. . Smoking is not allowed inside or outside Mimi's Cottage.
