Description

We live in a lovely 16th century house that was originally a pub in the pretty village of Lamberhurst, Kent. Our house is quaint, quirky, welcoming & relaxing. We supply local eggs, cereal, milk , bread , spreads , tea , coffee etc to make your own breakfast. The space We live in a lovely 16th century house that was originally a pub in the pretty village of Lamberhurst , Kent. Our house is traditional,relaxing, quirky & welcoming. On street Parking is available on the street and cut ins , no restrictions or money to pay .We have wifi, and all the home comforts you could wish for. The room you will be staying in is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The Teise has a King size bed (5ft) and has additionally a single bed. A travel cot and camp bed are also available on request. All linens and towels are provided. You are welcome to help yourself to various teas, including herbal, various coffees and some basic breakfast ie local eggs, bread, spreads, cereal etc. You may use the kitchen to cook in the evening, or indeed anytime of day , if you wish and there is a utility room to keep food, as guests have their own fridge and space in freezer & storage, we only ask you to clean up after yourself. We are well served with a Vineyard restaurant and various other pubs, The Teise has its own floor & bathroom. BUT be aware it is on the second floor with a curving staircase, also the bathroom is set on different levels. We have WIFI. There is a pretty garden leading down to the river Teise, with a summer house for sitting and enjoying the views. There are also plenty of tables and chairs, lovely for sitting out in the warmer weather. For fisherman, the river has carp,chub and some trout. The street we live on, is a pretty residential road only a minutes walk to the village shop, a little supermarket, open 7am-7pm most days & sunday 7am-4pm. Royal Tunbridge Wells, is aprox 15 minute drive away. There are many attractions to see in this beautiful part of Kent,with the coast, including the gorgeous historic Rye & the many attractions of Hastings a 30 minute drive away, Brighton & the white cliffs of Dover aprox I hour away.Local attractions such as Scotney Castle, Golf course, Bewl Water & Bedgebury, walking distance or a very short drive away, as on the outskirts of the village, great for sailing, cycling, bird watching & fishing. Trains to London are approximately 1 hour from Frant station in the next village or a faster line at Paddock Wood & Tonbridge aprox 15 minute drive.We are also lucky to be near many historic places,for example, within 20 minutes drive, is Kiplings home Batemans, Battle & Sissinghurst Castle. 30 minutes away is Winnie the Pooh's home Hartfield & aprox 40 minutes are Leeds Castle & Churchills home Chartwell. Guest access Kitchen breakfast room , only shared with us & utility, also only shared with us living room ( piece a vivre) & garden, with summer house. Garden and Summer house shared with just us and friends and family when visit During your stay We give advice on where to go,(some how to get in free),local walks etc, what the local pubs & restaurants offer in terms of food, at what prices, to suit all budgets , maps & leaflets to lots of places of interest, walks & attractions & offer directions.This house is also large enough for guests who want privacy, as we have a separate sitting room & bedroom with en- suite in a different part of the house, even has its own staircase! With the river, views & summerhouse , most people find it very relaxing here. The summerhouse, has heating and light, so writers, ( both music and literary) and readers, find inspiration down there by the river, with views, even in the winter months. Other things to note Be aware of the different levels of the Teise bathroom . Plus stairs up to top floor are windy .
