The space Built in the 1880s and serving as a one-room schoolhouse for many decades, this lovingly restored home offers a unique blend of history, comfort, and the quiet charm of rural New Brunswick. The house has two comfortable bedrooms with three twin beds, providing sleeping accommodations for up to three guests. The fully equipped kitchen includes a complete set of dishes, glasses, mugs, and cutlery, along with pots, pans, baking dishes, and cooking utensils. A full-size stove and oven make meal preparation easy. You will also find a Melitta pour-over coffee maker with coffee, a hot water dispenser, a teapot with tea bags, sugar, salt and pepper, paper towels, dish towels, chef's knives, scissors, a can opener, and other everyday kitchen essentials. The main-floor bathroom is stocked with four sets of bath towels, hand towels, and facecloths, along with hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. A washer and dryer are available for your convenience, and laundry detergent is provided. The spacious back deck is one of the highlights of the property. Surrounded by mature maple, oak, and spruce trees, it offers a peaceful setting where you can relax with your morning coffee, read a book, or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The deck is furnished with comfortable lawn chairs, making it an ideal place to unwind and feel immersed in the beauty of the surrounding forest. Although the property feels secluded, it is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Quispamsis and 40 minutes from Saint John, where you will find grocery stores, restaurants, shopping centers, and major retailers. The popular Kingston Farmers' Market is only five minutes away and comes alive every Saturday with local produce, baked goods, artisan crafts, live music, and friendly vendors. It is a wonderful place to experience the local community and one of the area's favorite weekend destinations. Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat, a comfortable base from which to explore southern New Brunswick, or a place to write, read, and recharge, this historic schoolhouse offers a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. Guest access Guests have access to the entire upper floor, including both bedrooms, as well as the main floor, which includes the fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining area, and bathroom. The basement is available only for use of the washer and dryer. We ask that guests not use the basement bathroom or other basement areas. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the back deck and the surrounding outdoor spaces during their stay. Other things to note To help us keep this historic schoolhouse in excellent condition for future guests, we ask that you observe a few simple guidelines during your stay. * Please treat the home and its furnishings with care. * No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere inside the house. * Please respect the quiet rural neighbourhood by keeping noise to a reasonable level, especially during the evening. * Registered guests only. Please do not host parties or events. * The basement is provided only for access to the washer and dryer. Please do not use the basement bathroom or other basement areas. * Before checking out, please wash any dishes you have used, place all garbage in the outdoor garbage bin, and leave the house in a reasonably tidy condition. If needed, we would appreciate a quick vacuum of the floors. * Please ensure all windows are closed, lights are turned off, and the doors are locked when you leave.
