17th century cottage in Matlock
17th century cottage in Matlock
Description
A very old stone cottage but newly renovated inside. The cottage was my home, my children were all brought up there. I now live in a barn at the top of the driveway which we tried to build in as energy saving way as we could. During the cottage renovation we have tried to make the space as 'green' as possible. The space The cottage was our family home for 20years and since moving out into the renovated barn we've given the cottage a full makeover. Downstairs there is a modern kitchen, dining room to seat 8, a main living room with a log burning fire and a second living room that can be used as a 4th bedroom. There's also a bathroom, utility room and drying room - an absolute essential for those wet wearied walking returning from the peaks. Upstairs we have 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. One double, one double or twin (depending on what arrangement you would like) and one set of bunk beds. The highlight of the property to me is the conservatory at the rear - what used to be a working greenhouse has been converted into a beautiful space to sit and relax in the morning and afternoon sun. Guest access Guests will have exclusive use of the cottage. There's space for 2 cars to park off the road on our drive. We also say guests are welcome to wander around our large garden and admire the fruits and vegetables growing there. Other things to note If you bring your pets please note the garden is not enclosed.
