A car is recommended but not necessary as there is a bus service to Costa d'Oneglia every few hours. Imperia is the capital city of the province. It is known for its high quality olive oil production. Unlike most tourist towns on the coast Imperia is lively all year round but not overly crowded. The new yacht harbours have attracted some of the biggest yachts in the world. Imperia is going to be the new St. Tropez in the coming years.
