Enjoy an unforgettable experience in our unique eco-house built from natural materials in a 10 hectare paradise in the cloud forests of Northern Peru. Bird lovers can walk our forest trails while spotting toucans and quetzals or watch condors and hummingbirds from a hammock. Relax in our riverside sauna before plunging into a sparkling river. Disconnect from the world but enjoy all the comforts of solar energy and hot showers, a fully equipped kitchen and luxurious bedrooms and living space. The space The property is composed of a large L shaped house with 3 bedrooms (2 double bedrooms and a bunkroom) and a kitchen/living space/toilet and shower and a smaller round house with a large bedroom and outdoor seating area and hot outdoor shower. The house is nestled in 10 hectares of forest and landscaped gardens with panoramic views over the stunning valley. The house is on a hill at the bottom of which is a tributary of the Utcubamba river which guests can plunge into after enjoying our riverside sauna. The kitchen/living room is fully equipped with fridge, gas cooker, woodburning rocket stove and an open fire place. The property is off grid with electricity supplied by an array of solar panels while hot water is supplied by 2 solar hot water installations. Water is supplied from a rainwater harvesting system which feeds the kitchen and services. Every effort has been made to respect the land and resources with the building constructed from stone, timber and earth from the land itself. Composting (dry) toilets and hot showers are contained in a bathroom in the main building. Guest access Guests are able to use all spaces Other things to note The property lies in an area rich in archaeological sites of the pre-Incan Chachapoyas people ranging from mausoleums to settlements. Guided visits to these sites including on horseback can be arranged with local guides during their stay. Advance notice is preferable.
