This 400c Jacobean-era property oozes peace and tranquility. "The Coach House", on the grounds of Ballyin House; looks directly at Lismore Castle & is within walking distance of Lismore town which is full of rustic charm and so quaint it`s a living postcard. This location is ideal if you are attending the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival events, Immrama Writers Festival, the International Hunter Trials, St Declan`s Way experience, or as a base to explore & discover Waterford, Cork, Kilkenny.... The space This Jacobean (c400 years old) accommodation, with plenty of free parking and private access; is perfect for a peaceful break. You will be given a separate key and enjoy complete privacy. It is a self-contained unit on the first floor, where The Coach Hand, who looked after the Stage Coach/Carriage and horses of Ballyin House; used to live. A fully fitted kitchen is available with oven, microwave, hob, sink, table, kitchen chairs, a fridge/freezer, and all utensils you will need for cooking including crockery, cutlery and glassware etc. The second room is a large room in two parts - one part is the living area which contains a two-seater couch and two single couches all focused around a beautiful cast iron potbelly stove (fuel supplied). The second area of this room contains a double bed and side table with a lamp that overlooks the planted ever flowering circle of Ballyin House. This accommodation offers a unique experience to walk in the footsteps of history in an extremely blissful environment. The location, within walking distance of Lismore town; is perfect for experiencing all the activities of Lismore and surrounding areas. Alternatively, it is ideal to just immerse yourself in the peace of the grounds and enjoy the luxury of a private walked back yard overlooking Ballyin Mill (now hosting free Exhibitions on Sat and Sun as advertised by Lismore Castle Arts), the walled Orchard (an opportunity to also feed the hens) and many of the tranquil walks. "The Coach House" is within walking distance of many interesting areas such as The Boardwalk, The Ice House, Lady Louisa`s walk, The Towers and of course Lismore town itself. We provide you with all the essentials you need, plus there is now also a Nespresso Coffee machine stocked with pods :-) There is also loads of reading material in "The Coach House" including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle`s complete collection of Sherlock Holmes adventures. This area of "Lovely Lismore" has many amazing opportunities for wood and mountain walks, fishing, bird watching, horse riding and water sports like kayaking on the blackwater River, surfing and body boarding on the local beaches and of course swimming - in the sea and the local rivers. If you like swimming in clear fresh water directly from the mountain - there is private direct access to Abhainn na Shad just a two-minute walk from "The Coach House" or a 4 minute walk away to "The Strand", a flat banked area; on the other side of the river by the board walk - where one can also swim, relax, read and have a picnic. On top of that, there are oodles of locations for private picnics, cycling, boat trips on the Blackwater River, to name but a few..... There are also many beautiful spots on the grounds where one can enjoy a cup of tea, a glass of wine and just relax. The latest addition is the development of the Orchard with its Organic Apple Trees and Walled Gardens plus the arrival of hens. Guest access Guests have total use of "The Coach House" with their own private entrance and ample parking.
