Your holiday home would be the ground floor of a lovingly restored Casa Colonica (stone farmhouse of classic Marche design).The restoration, with original features, respects building traditions and materials, yet holds the beautiful surprise of quality contemporary Italian fittings inside. The smart kitchen/ living areas open on to 2 terraces, for your private use, ensuring Sun or Shade all day, as desired. Enjoy al fresco dining under the locally hand-crafted iron Pergola with a granite-topped iron table and comfortable chairs , or BBQ on your own terrace. Quality bed linen is provided in both bedrms; 1 double bedrm with valley views, and 1 queen size/twin bedrm with door to a terrace; there are useful wardrobes and a charming rustic ambience. You will surely delight in the beautiful scenery from the large secluded pool terrace as you sunbathe/cool off, or if you prefer, relax amongst olives, vines, oleanders, figs and pomegranates.The large garden is on three levels, and not recommended for children under 4 yrs old. It is a perfect tranquil setting yet within walking distance of several neighbours who live in similarly secluded homes, and only a short drive to amenities. The owners, Thompson and Tricia live in the first floor apartment and give guests priority and private use of the pool and the pool terrace. Each apartment has good privacy however the owners are happy to help or share local knowledge if guests request it. More about facilities: The terraces and grounds are well-looked after. Fresh towels and bed linen are provided each week. A washing machine, iron and ironing board are available, and a vacuum cleaner on request. Wi Fi connection is possible from the apartment and terraces. There is also a computer shop a 10 minute drive away adjacent to a modern bar with good bread, coffee and aperitifs. There is a range of delightfully individual restaurants and bars in the locality and similarly a good choice of fish restaurants at the coast. Most are reasonably priced and some are more sophisticated for that special evening out, treat, or celebration. Very many share a pride and commitment to providing quality local food and good service. This area is unspoilt by mass tourism and local people are generally keen to assist visitors; the use of English is increasing. Travel to Casa Corovanda, San Ginesio: Travel from UK. -Ancona and Perugia airports -approx 1hr 15mins drive away; Ryan Air fly daily from Stansted. Rimini and Pescara airports take about 2 hrs driving time and Bologna is approx. 3hrs away. Rome Ciampino airport is about 3hrs 30mins driving time but once beyond the ring road it is a lovely scenic drive through the mountains across Italy. Ryan Air provide services to these destinations from various UK airports. Travel from other european countries - By car - It is the A14 autostrada that passes along the Adriatic coast-line to Civitanova Marche exit. From there Casa Corovanda can be easily reached via the SS77 superstrada, then the SP78 and local roads. By air - The number of flights into Ancona are increasing every year, including for example flights, from Brussels, Dusseldorf, Munich and Madrid. The driving times from other airports are given above. We provide very detailed directions with photographs and maps which are reliable, but we are happy to meet guests, if desired, usually at a service station on the SP78 and guide them.
