Gorgeous Shepherds Hut
Gorgeous Shepherds Hut
Description
Our beautiful shepherd’s hut sits on the edge of a peaceful Somerset valley, surrounded by rolling hills. Perched in the back corner of our garden, but sitting alongside Romantic, rustic, and immersed in nature, it’s the perfect place to unwind and walk. Yet you’re just minutes from the historic market towns of Sherborne and Wincanton, with Sherborne Abbey, two castles, and only 50 minutes from the ancient city of Bath. The space The shepherd’s hut is a peaceful retreat, surrounded by fields, incredible walks and open skies. We hope you’ll slow down, switch off, and enjoy the tranquillity. Outside you’ll find a fire pit, which also doubles as a barbecue. If you’d like to light a fire or cook over it, just let us know and we’ll happily provide some varied firewood and firelighters for a small donation of £8. The nearest toilet is our downstairs loo, just a short walk from the shepherd’s hut and easily accessible at all times. For washing, we have an outdoor shower, with views of the valley - an incredible chance to embrace nature, the wild and the elements! We also host a camper van in our large garden ("The Happy Camper"), so occasionally you will share the generous space with neighbours, although you can also book this option if you have a larger number. We are careful to ensure that all our guests understand that this is a getaway hosting - a place for quiet, reflection and quality time with your family, partner or friends. We have children whom, weather depending, play in the garden. If your goal is to get away from that sort of "background accompaniment" (we have found that some guests like it, or bring children themselves and join in), we can make plans to go and do something exciting with them! There tends to be no crossover as either our guests go for walks in the afternoon or arrive later in the day when our children our having tea and going to bed. But if you want to come at 3pm and just collapse in peace and quiet, we will happily arrange a family outing! If there’s anything you need during your stay, or if something isn’t quite right, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re always happy to help.
