Description
Stay in our Wild Mustang Native American Tipi, nested in pristine forest next to the Winema National Forest. We have miles of hiking trails. Amazing beauty of Pelican Butte Mts, Agency Lake in the distance, down the road 26 miles to Crater Lake. Come have the experience a unique place. COVID19 Instructions, WE practice safe distancing and all required cleaning/sanitizing requirements. And we and our staff have had vaccinations. Safety and beauty. The space We were impacted by the TwoFourTwo wildfire that hit our ranch 2 years ago, burning some of our trees, but most have survived, and we still have trees and forest around it to give privacy, and yet a driveway so you can drive right to it. We are currently working on replanting and allowing those trees that will survive the chance to do so. You can see the effects of a careless campfire from a few miles away, and hopefully see why all fires need to be OUT before you leave. It caused our community much chaos and suffering last Fall. We have a passion to recover. You will also see a SOLAR powered on demand shower near the tipis, and porta potties. Within the teepee are 4 mattressess, with sleeping bags . The Fire pit in the middle for warmth. Cooking outside on an outdoor firepit and picnic table is allowed. You may purchase firewood at the office, $5 per bundle. IF there is a fireban, there will be NO BURNING at all! We will let you know ahead of time. Guest access There is a roadway all around the campgrounds, teepee is off to the right side by themselves , and driveway up to it. You will need to walk a little ways over to the propane shower and porta potties, but easily accessible. There are great hiking trails, and we were blessed with many of our trees surviving the fires last fall. See if you can see our special little bird, a cousin to the red-headed woodpecker, only this guy has a black and white stripped head- his job is to follow forest fires, and help the trees heal and reseed themselves. He pecks open the pinecones so they can regerminate, and carries bacteria to the trees helping them recover from burns. Many bald eagles, red tailed hawks, hummingbirds, wild canaries, herons, etc. Wildlife is deer and elk. Other things to note Clear open skies for great celestial viewing of eclipse coming up in August. Because we are away from the city, we have no lights that detract from seeing the stars, the moon and all other celestial bodies ( or UFO'S ?...lol) Our neighbor has cows and sheep, with the occassional coyote howling and barking (yes coyotes bark-to lure animals and people out into the wilds, sorry, we have no control of them.) GREAT star gazing!
