Stay in the old village schoolhouse

Our historic school building with wonderfully high ceilings and its thick sandstone walls offers plenty of space (about 130 square meters) for up to four people. It was lovingly ecologically renovated by us until 2013. Downstairs there is a large kitchen-living room, upstairs a cozy small bedroom and a large studio, which can also be used by artistically ambitious guests. From Gräfenhausen you can go directly to the Palatinate Forest by mountain bike or on foot. The nearest climbing rock is also a 20-minute walk. In the village there is a small restaurant with a village shop and a bakery (both directly opposite the house). The space Gräfenhausen is a small, unspoiled village (about 500 inhabitants) located in the Palatinate Forest, with a special flair. The house is located in the historic village center, between the pretty little chapel (don't worry: no bells on Sunday mornings, the service is Monday evenings) and the only winery in Gräfenhausen, which is known for its Burgundy. Are you looking for peace and inspiration? Then you've come to the right place. The house is very quiet with its thick walls and there is no through traffic in the village as it is a cul-de-sac village. In summer you can sit in the courtyard behind the house or stretch out a hammock. As already mentioned, it is the Catholic schoolhouse built around 1860, which we have ecologically renovated in loving detail. On the first floor is the spacious kitchen-living room with dining area and sitting area with wood-burning stove. The bathroom is also on the first floor. Upstairs there is a small bedroom and a very bright and large studio (a former school hall). This can be used as a bedroom (a double bed is available there) or for artistic work or work on the laptop (large work table with office chair is available). There are many books and games available. The area invites you to hike, mountain bike and climb. Annweiler with its historic city center is 5 minutes away by car, and Landau can be reached in about 15 minutes. Guest access You can use the yard and the whole house (except the attic). You can park your car in the yard and put your bikes in the lockable barn. A washing machine is at your disposal. The kitchen has a gas stove, oven and dishwasher. Bedding is available.
