This 4 bedroom thatch house is situated on the farm Fairview Estates Fouriesburg. The ideal spot for a secluded,private,peaceful breakaway-high up between the Maluti Mountain Range. Uninterrupted 360 degree views, a must to recharge your batteries. The space Once you reach De Rust Farm Cottage, you will enjoy the views over the breathtaking Maluti Mountain Range. This old traditional rondawel style house offers you luxurious accommodation with high quality antique furniture, with interesting art as a back drop. FREE WIFI, finally we managed to get some signal on the mountain tops. TV's are Netflix only, do bring along your own Netflix account details in order for you to sign in. Do not forget to sign out of your own account when you leave, you do not want future guests adding programmes to your profile... The friendly horses will really round off your visit to De Rust, as they come to greet the guests everyday and of course to see if there are any special treats for them. If privacy and quiet is what you are after, De Rust is your ideal breakaway option. We try and make your stay as comfortable as possible by providing you with most of the luxury items you need, including a beautiful indoor wood combustion stove for those cosy winter evenings. The outdoor braai pit area creates the perfect spot for a true South African braai. Recently we built an undercover braai room with lots of seating and built-in braai. This room is ideal for winter and rainy days. Children will never get bored climbing the old pear tree, that provides the perfect treat for the horses during season. Close by guests can visit our own unique pothole haven, with beautiful whirlpools to occupy kids and cool warm feet-follow the signs. Lovely walks to overhanging caves will also add some interest to your stay. No formal activities, but you have freedom to go on your own adventure. NB: Just a friendly reminder that you do need a 4x2(diff lock vehicle) in order to reach the cottage-do not try and arrive in your Ferrari!! Guest access As you book the whole house as a unit, you will never have to share your space with other guests. The nearest other accommodation is 5km away. You might encounter the odd farm worker on horse back or a few Bonsmara cows meandering. If you arrive in a 4x4 you will have access to 4500 hectares to explore. Other things to note Please do not go to bed at night with a blazing fire in the pit, as this poses a fire risk. Never leave a fire unattended. It is not advisable to arrive on your first day after dark, as this is a farm road where visibility is restricted. Although we think our horses are very tame, please supervise children around the horses, as horses are unpredictable.
