Cosy cottage nr Wells in the heart of Somerset

New Mill Cottage is Grade II listed and is the perfect base to explore the beautiful Mendip Hills and surrounding area. Situated in the picturesque village of Croscombe, the cottage is just three miles from the historic city of Wells. The award winning village pub is a two minute walk down the road. And there is also a small shop for essentials at the pub. The cottage has an allocated parking space for one car, and Wells and Shepton Mallet are only a five minute drive away. The space This cosy little cottage, with its thick stone walls and original features, makes an ideal base for a countryside getaway. It is only a short drive from Wells, with its magnificent cathedral and the medieval Vicars Close, the oldest residential street in Europe. Also a short drive away (within 30 minutes) are Glastonbury, Frome, Bruton, Clarks Village and Cheddar Gorge, and a little further (within an hour) there is Longleat Safari Park, and the cities of Bath and Bristol. The rooms: Ground floor kitchen/diner with original flag stone floor, electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, coffee machine, kettle and toaster, and dining space for up to 4 people. Stairs leading from the kitchen take you up to the bright and airy lounge with vaulted beamed ceiling, smart TV with freesat and streaming apps, DVD player, PS4 and bluetooth hifi. Two steps up from the lounge leads you to the shower room with heated towel rail, WC and basin. And finally, the cosy bedroom with king size bed, chest of drawers and hanging rail. Entrance to the cottage is via the private gravel courtyard. With its stone walls and outdoor seating, it is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. The cottage has Wi-Fi, central heating throughout, and there is a selection of board games, DVD's, playstation games and books. Parking for one car is provided on our drive, just in front of the courtyard. Guest access Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is before 10am. There is a key safe for contactless check-in. A code will be sent to you before your arrival. Please park in the space marked guest parking. Other things to note The cottage is situated on the main road through the village, in a 20mph zone. Unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for young children. The hosts live in the adjacent property. Please note, there is no washing machine, dryer or dishwasher. If laundry facilities are required, there are launderettes within a few minutes drive.
